Modernrocco
I'm on the first mission the assault on Hill 218, I know mines are going to be a big part and was wondering if any of you have different strategies when dealing with mines when attacking, I've spent the last 30 minutes just cautiously walking with my first line of troops and when One makes contact with a mine grouping, I stop them and let the breach teams behind them come and mark it before moving forward. I've probably lost around 20 pixel truppen doing this but someone has to do the dirty work for the 2nd wave. just curious what you all think. its slow and tedious but in the long run i believe its better than banzai rushing the whole open field. Modernrocco
Added note - I used up my mortar and 75 mm battery pounding the middle 2 observation posts, I Imagine I could have area bombarded the sloping field taking a chance at knocking out a few of the mine clusters.
Artkin
The breach teams should be able to move at a walking pace ahead of your men and they will detect minefields on their own. I always do it this way, and my engineers seem to take less casualties (Only if I'm negligent with my engineers) than regular troops, but not too sure about this. Moving your breach team 2 tiles a turn seems effective to me.
