CMBS v2.16 Crossing the Dneiper campaign save load crash (Does not occur in v1.04)

So I've been having issues with CMBS Campaigns after I purchased the upgraded game engine (Non-steam version). Crossing the Dneiper campaign crashes on save load.. I've uninstalled and reinstalled v1.04 and the crash does not occur without the 2.16 patch.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start a new Crossing the Dneiper campaign. Save (or play any mission).

2. Load the save.

3. Progress bar will hit 27% and then game crashes to desktop.

 

There's no logs in the event viewer.

 

System Specs:

CPU: R7 3700x

GPU: 6800xt

RAM: 32GB

 

Anyone knows why?

I think it's a version incompability. I dont know exactly, but if you try downloading a campaign that was made on a certain version of CM, you need that version. 

I tried downloading a CMFB campaign but it wouldnt even show up because I wasn't patched to the latest version. You probably can't open the older version for that reason.. and will have to start over again.
