Kingfish
Which formation were these units found in? Unless I am mistaken, the SS formations that fought in the ETO were either Panzer, Panzergrenadier or Gerbirgsjager.
JasonC
I'm pretty sure you are mistaken. Only a third of the late war SS were the "German" mobile formations. A modest slice were the specialist types, Mountain or Cavalry etc. But fully half by formation, though certainly not by combat ability, were a grab bag of ethnic debris from all over Europe. There was an Indian Legion, A Muslim Legion, Croats, Russians, Latvians, Estonians, Slovenians, Albanians, Ukrainians, Italians who didn't surrender, Hungarians likewise. Even Frenchmen, supporters of Petain (though they formed around Belfort, those fought in the east, though). And there were little dribbles like the 19th SS Police regiment (at Metz in the early fall, later sent to Belfort), all kinds of ad hoc measures inside Germany, etc. Panzer divisions they were not.
Kingfish
Did any the different ethnic formations you mentioned fight in the ETO?
