fubart
I foolishly let my M4Al get too close to a building and a plucky German tossed a grenade, it appeared, under my tank ...didn't just immobilize but knocked it out. My foolhardiness is very credible, but what about tank vs. grenade?
Bullethead
As I understand it, each infantry squad on the map is an abstraction representing the "center of mass" of the squad. The actual soldiers are often spread out over a somewhat larger area, but CM doesn't track their positions individually--you always shoot the squad marker itself. So, in this type of case, squads have a "close combat radius" around the squad icon on the map. This radius represents the area in which individual soldiers can engage in close combat with enemy units, both infantry and tanks. This is shown graphically in the game by having the squad marker toss a grenade from a distance, but this in fact might represent somebody actually climbing onto the tank and dropping a frag down the hatch. ------------------ -Bullethead In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is strength, in water there is bacteria.
