The origins of the hamsterspeak.

Recommended Posts

When did the infection begin? I'm getting really curious. confused.gif

I remember a time when this board wasn't filled with 'em.

But I don't remember when they started ariving.

Search doesn't help, you only get 200 hits max, and with hamsters,

that just doesn't cut it. Searching with "hampster" gives better

(but not correct) results.

Must have been sometime -99. If I recall, they were first mentioned

only in Monty Python quotes, as in:

http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/001055.html

But I'm really seeking the first time the hamsters are mentioned

actually doing something. As is the case here, where an undercover hampster,

sent by Bauhaus, spied on Berlichtingens penis: rolleyes.gif

http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/Forum1/HTML/002762.html

But I'm sure this was not the first hamster mention. I remember

they were already strongly present by that time...

It seems that the 'SS are overpriced Hamsters' may be the first, or close to first thread where the whole army-hamsters thing happened.

However, I do recall a thread where a variety of animals were mentioned and then the Hamsters became popular and often mentioned. I cannot recall date of this thread or the topic.

We need a thread historian biggrin.gif

I have always assumed that the Hamsters arrived after the Gerbils. The Gerbils would have arrived after people noticed that one of the german troop types (Mountain Infantry) ALMOST looks like Gerbil Jagers, hence started calling them 'Gerbils' for short.

Then it started to get silly... :P

Gerbiltheory is good, but the hamsters arrived approximately half a year

before the final game, and there were no gerbils in the demo.

Too bad so many old timers have left the board.

And many of those remaining rarely leave the cesspool anymore...

Yeah, I looked back on an old thread and noticed, "Hey, where's so and so been?"

------------------

--"We want information."

--"Information."

--"Information."

--"Who are you?"

--"The new Number 2."

--"Who is Number 1?"

--"You are Number 6."

--"I am not a number, I am a free man!"

--"Hahahahahahahaha."

I mentioned this in another thread one time but they must of thought I was trying to be cute or something.

Remember when East Front and West Front were put together in "Europe In Flames?" Well, there was a WAV file in one of those games that played at the end of a loss that said something to the effect...... "Another performance like that and we will have to shoot you and your HAMSTER too!" Could this be part of the myth?

------------------

"Then we shall fight in the shade." (Greek general's comment upon being told that the Persian archers could blot-out the sun with their arrows.)
