Bloody Bill
I am fighting the Nulli Secundis scenario that has some cool vehicles in it. I cannot get the Priest Kangaroos to fire their .50s. Target order, fire zones or leaving them alone the gunner just will not operate the gun giving the apc no immediate support.
A Canadian Cat
Have you tried unbuttoning?
Bloody Bill
@ IanL, I have not. Seems like a good idea though. Do you need to unbutton for other vehicles? Will try right now. Thanks.

A Canadian Cat
Cool good to know. It is not really perfect. I guess I would have expected it to just unbutton as a side effect of giving it a target command. But I suppose it is a good thing that you know what to do to get it to work. Have fun.

I could swear it used to be like that. At least I remember keeping my halftracks buttoned and that they would man the MG when I gave a target order...
A Canadian Cat
That was the way I remembered it too. Perhaps it is worth a look to see if the behavior is different between the two vehicles.
Father Ted
I had a similar issue with a US armoured car. They'd run out of 37mm HE and refused to use their 50 cal on some distant infantry I wanted rid of. I figured out the unbuttoning thing and ordered them to do so. Immediately some hitherto unseen infantry opened up on the AFV and plugged the commander. I suppose that when buttoned-up the SA of the car is not too good, and also that the enemy infantry knew not to bother shooting at it until they had a soft target. The moral of the story: take care with the unbuttoning command.
