blottes
Are suppression missions out of the scope of the game?
ikalugin
Considering that there is only one AD system on map with a radar on it (tunguska, though I could be wrong), I doubt that dedicated SEAD assets would be within the game scope. Nothing precludes you from sending your CAS planes to engage SHORAD sites though. Edited January 17, 2015 by ikalugin
Sgt Joch
much of the air war, i.e. SEAD or interdiction missions, are outside the scope of the game. CM is about tactical ground combat, so you will only have aircraft/helos involved in CAS operations in game. SEAD and interdiction missions are handled indirectly through the scenario editor by deciding how many air assets show up (due to SEAD/air superiority) or how many enemy ground assets show up (due to interdiction).
panzersaurkrautwerfer
SEAD is actually the broader umbrella of suppressing enemy air defenses. So in that concept, yes. Yes there are SEAD missions, they're just the suppressing suspected MANPAD positions using artillery vs a HARM missile to someone's face.
