Artofwar
I'm playing a downloaded scenario from the Repository - "The 28th Fights Back" I believe the manual reads: (see below I pasted it in) Anyway my Pioneer units the Mark Mines Command is like greyed out it is there but not able to click on it: What am I doing wrong Thanks
Artofwar
Ok I figured it out the engineers do not search for mines using the mark mind command they have to sit in one hex for hours and hours then they see the mines then they can mark them. "This command enables engineer units to detect and ....." This is completely bogus statement in the 3.0 manual it does not allow them to detect mines
womble
It's probably a little loose for a manual, but if you read it as referring to the individual mine items, rather than that an 8m x 8m square of land has mine items in it, it remains true.
Artofwar
Yeah its ok I was just peeved at spending so much time trying to figure it out how it actually works - I wish I had just read it and understood it and been able to continue the enjoyment of the Scenario rather than spending so much time trying to figure out how it works then going to the form blah blah blah ..
A Canadian Cat
Just to check - do you have it sorted now? Once your engineers are in the action square next to the mines the mark mine command will be available. Do not be too complacent though, even marked mines are dangerous. Even if the mines are marked and you order some infantry to quick or fast through the area they might still trigger a mine. Heck I think it is still possible that might happen with move or slow too even, just very unlikely.
Artofwar
Yeah I think I got it but the engineers can't really search for mines until they see them in order to search for mines they have to be stationary in a mine field I was hoping I could just have them go up a road and check for mines the whole way but then maybe this would be to time consuming and that would not be practical/realistic it seems normal though that the game does not allow them to be able to search for mines until someone else finds them - the hard wary - or they find them by camping out in an area. - cause probably usually what happened was some poor bloke or vehicle with a bloke hits a mine then the engineers are called up to find them and mark them. ....
