Question on campaign design

Hey,

Been awhile since on the board and playing CM but wanted to get back into it and design a campaign. How difficult is this and is there anywhere that I could go for a tutorial on this?

I know scenarios and map making pretty well but can't make heads or tails of campaign design.

Anyone want to point me in the right direction?

Many thanks...

I have a pdf manual that is included with 3.0 that includes detailed explanations of campaign building. Not sure how detailed older game manual versions are when it comes to it. Might want to check whichewer version you have in the game folder.

Dunno if it's hard myself but,we defenitely,would,need,more,campaigns!

Not very hard, even I have managed to make one ;)

The engine manual section on making campaigns includes all you need, just read it carefully step by step. And of course you need at least two scenarios (a single scenario campaign is feasible but perhaps not such a good idea...) and a lot of testing. My tiny CMSF campaign focused on just couple platoons on very small maps yet it took a lot of testing to get right. I wouldn't recommend trying to make a 100 scenario branching mega campaign on your first try.

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and get 3.0 later on tonight. Just downloaded 2.0 but it is for a worthy cause...

Yea- scenarios are pretty easy and I understand the campaigns need several scenarios strung together as well as a holding scenario with your core units.

... just found the 3.0 Engine Manual online so appreciate the direction Sergie...

Thanks for your help. Love working with Scenarios but wanted to go the next level. Playing the 'Devils' campaign right now and enjoying that pretty much....

Took the sample script from the 3.0 engine module and copied it, changed the battle names and used it to create my first campaign.

Now I get to work on customizing it and expanding on the idea. Always wanted to create a campaign so I am pretty happy I have a baseline to work with.

Thanks again for the help...
