Anyone find the rotation movement annoying?!

Recommended Posts

Well I do

The camera rotation creates a small circle, rather than rotate on a single point - I much prefer a single point rotation! frown.gif Everytime I rotate around a tank, the camera loses track of the tank, and I have to jerk the screen around with the mouse and cursor keys in unison to keep the tank in view - extrememly annoying and frustating....I hope BTS allows an option to roatate on a single point....

Mike T, maybe you already know this but, if you hit 'Tab' and then '1', you get just that.

Would a one-key sytem really be that much better?

CCJ, I agree with you. I'd also prefer if the camera pivoted on a point rather than rotate around one.

What annoys me is the use of the primary control device for camera movement. It's just a minor annoyance in a turn-based game like cm, but the use of the mouse for camera control in homeworld (along with the forced linking of the camera to a ship) is the main reason why I absolutely despised its control system.

Myth spoiled me. smile.gif The q-d block of keys (convenient to the left hand) is used for forward and backward movement, as well as both rotating and pivoting the camera. Alas, in cm, those keys are used for other things, but I'd like to see the keypad used for something like that. Maybe cm2. smile.gif It's not a big deal, really.

Guys, something that has been bothering me for some time but when it comes to comment I keep forgetting. The game is essentially a key controlled game. What I means is that when you click for the hotkeys you must use a keyboard to activate the features in the menu. How about the idea of clicking on the hotkeys but access the menu but a mouse click could activate the features within that menu. A mouse click could vary the number of trees. A mouse click could save a game.

I know some might feel this is lazy, but no. I am just a "convenience specialist"

You have another buddy on your list. smile.gif

It's really annoying.

Maybe some sort of locking to the unit and then circling araond it (but still focused) would be nice.

I know, that the locking thing is already there, but I'm not shure, if the point of view don't change if using the rotating/moving tools/keys !
