4th Bn 66th Reg
Saipan was invaded in world war 2 partly to allow US bombing of Japan by B29 bombers. Iwo Jima was invaded as a point half way between Saipan and Japan where damaged bombers could land instead of crashing into the sea. The current map doesn't support the bombing range or location of the islands in relation to Japan. I am having a blast playing this game so I guess it doesn't matter that much, but a strategic bombing campaign against Japan isn't that much of an option. crispy131313
Placing Japanese Bombers In Guadalcanal and Midway effect Allied Supply right now (scripted). So I think the solution would be to give Allied Bombers similar effects in these Islands.
Catacol Highlander
There is, however, the A-Bomb event in 1945 which is tied in to the capture of one or more of the island bases that were historically in range of Japan. That A-Bomb moment can be the end of Japan if planned for correctly.
