Trooper
Unfortunately, the Field Gun Competition is no more. The last ever (For the moment anyway) Royal Tournament was a few months ago. As per usual, the BBC failed to advertise well enough in advance (Try finding coverage of Farnborough!), so it was lucky I caught it. Can't be sure, but I think the Fleet Air Arm managed to win it, but it was vary close. (Was between them and Portsmouth) There are supporters looking to re-initialize the competition, but for the moment, it is en ex-tournament. Can't remember the full weight, but they were guns and limbers, coming in at over a ton in total. I would also point out that we're talking about each team being some twenty selected (and physically outstanding) people here, not the average run-of-the-mill 5 man AT gun crew! Maybe they can move it to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo? DWH Manic Moran
