Any way to force a re-download? I got my copy yesterday and after I installed and connected it started downloading the updates. My network connection puked part way through. Apparently it got far enough in that the system thinks I got everything and won't trigger a new update. I think I ended up not getting some of the art.
After playing the demo for a bit I decided I liked the game enough to order it. While the unlock planes thing will be a pain, I appreciate being able to play the game any time I want. It beats driving 30 miles to the hobby shop once a month or so in hopes of scaring up a match.
Does Campaign experience allow me to 'unlock' planes for the local game? While campaigns sound interesting I really dislike the concept of having to unlock planes to play against the AI. A lot of the fun for me in the card games is trying out the what ifs and never happened battles.
Well I'm glad i checked here before buying the game. The direct X thing sounds like something that will be fixed. But this part seems to be a rather unfortunate design decision. Guess I'll have to stick with playing the card game FTF.
Bought HOI installed it and played it for two days. The AI is incompetent and the documentation was terrible. It is essentially EU WW2. I uninstalled it on the third day. The AI complaints are usually met with "It's really designed for multiplayer" but what I wonder is where do you find 8 people who are willing to get together every night for a month to actually complete a game? So I guess if you liked EU/EU2 this game is worth getting otherwise save your money.
Turns out it isn't the download that causes problems. When I try to click the file my system freezes, even right clicking it will cause the system to freeze. Any ideas?
Failing that a complete list of new features and functionality would be sufficient
PS. For future consideration it would be nice if botht the Chinese Nationalists and Communists were in any PTO game.
