sburke
Just finished reading Lions of Medina. http://www.amazon.com/Lions-Medina-Marines-Charlie-Brotherhood/dp/0451224086/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360428631&sr=1-1&keywords=lions+of+medina Fascinating story of bravery, great tactical leaders and the stress of intense close quarters combat. Lt Ruffer breaking out into the Marine Hymn to galvanize his men when they were in danger of being overrun and then leading 3 counterattacks to disrupt the NVA, NVA troops tied up in trees inside the Marine perimeter and dropping grenades through the night - incredible. Would love to be a able to take that and try to create a CM scenario. Maybe someday BF will venture into this theater/conflict.
dieseltaylor
I was curious as to the casualties given the number of battalions involved. http://military.blogs.mydesert.com/tag/operation-medina/ Great little item on Ruffer. Gives figures of 177 dead Vietnamese, and 86 US casualties [11dead] in C company however it is not at all clear what the overall bodycount was. Anyone got the reference books.
