What do you use to make Combat Mission videos?

I have been using Fraps to capture videos and then processing them with Handbrake before uploading them to YouTube. If I have the time to do serious editing, I will use Adobe Premiere but that is only if I really want to add text or stitch some videos together.

I have not been entirely happy with the results. They are often choppy and 'laggy'. What do you guys use and what settings do you use?

I am using FRAP to record too. Is it the recording stage that is laggy?

My game settings are better for models and best for textures and that is pertty much pushing it for our Epic battle. I can get 14 to 18 fps. In smaller games higher.

I an not as rich as you so I use power director instead of premier.

Just what we need to help survive on the virtual battlefield. I was wondering, what difficulity setting do you recommend and what does the different settings actually do to gameplay? Also did you play the original Combat Mission and how would you say they compare?

What hardware do you have? A good GPU? Hardware is important for video recording.

One of my recent efforts, using Fraps and simple Moviemaker. Still learnign myself. Within Fraps I find recording at full resolution is a must for strategy games with lots of small troops/details.

I have a pretty mediocre machine but I upgraded my video card to a Radeon HD 6770 with 1Gb memory recently. Makes playing the game much nicer. My machine really will not support a faster card.
