Nuggetz Posted August 21, 2012 Share Posted August 21, 2012 I just picked up CM:FI just because it was he "newest" one but I'm wondering if there are certain things that you can or can't do in the other games? I've been eyeballing Normandy and was wondering if there's a chart or something that highlights the major differences between games. Saw a video walk thru on YouTube and there seemed to be a way of checking line of sight before selecting a waypoint for your men. Video made mention if the T key. Does that work in fortress Italy? For example, the Italian army doesn't seem to have radios or at least the infantry I was paying with this afternoon didn't. I'm interested in stuff like that. Don't really care too much about graphics as they look similar to me. Are you referring to the fact that you can set a waypoint, select it and then use the "Target" command to check LOS from that prospective position? One other thing is the wiki says that Normandy and Italy use the cm2 engine but on the fortress Italy page it says that FI is the first game built on cm2. What does that mean? Wicky Posted August 21, 2012 Share Posted August 21, 2012 yup they are both based on the CMx1.00 engine but Italy came upgraded as CMx2.00 which will be available for CM Normandy shortly as an upgrade. I hope I won't add to it by saying that both CM:Battle for Normandy and CM:Fortress Italy were created in the CMx2 system. However, and this is where it might get confusing, for CMFI the system has been upgraded to what is called v2. In other words, there is now extant CMx2v2. CMBN will soon be upgraded to v2 as well.
