Shelled Exploded in Barrel?

Other than enjoying the demise of my friend's King Tiger by my British Achilles, have a look at this video.

At the very end, after I hit the tank, there is another flash from near the muzzle break. What happened? It was not a shot (according to my friend and it did not sound right). It looks to me like a shell exploded in the barrel. Did they model that?

You can clearly hear something else firing at 0:08-0:09 and then the muzzle is hit. I'm thinking a regular shot from a tank/ATG that just happened to hit right on the nose.

That makes sense @Ranger33. There was a lot going on - my Royal Tigers on the tree line plus his two Achilles on the other treeline plus various Churchill's floating around. I never even noticed the second hit which is why he made the video.

i thought so too. but just enjoy it as a subtle modeling nuance.

It looked like and sounded like a "Weapon hit" which happens when a projectile hit's the "muzzle break" of a gun. But it usualy shows hit txt "Weapon hit" and the gun becomes damaged. Did the tank survive the first penetration ? If not, maybe the "Weapon hit" txt didn't appear because the tank was already killed ?

BTW, and for future reference and not getting on anyone's case, it's spelled 'brake'. Broken is what the muzzle would be after it was hit.

Thanks all. I agree it was a weapons hit in the end, after the tiger died so no text. BTW, I'm working on a good video of how the Achilles died the next turn. Far more dramatic.

Now to see what happens this turn!

Sure it's a "muzzle brake" not "break". I guess a "hand break" in a car would sound funny too .
