dieseltaylor
I am always impressed by the depth of knowledge ... This is a posting in the WeBoB forums by an American living in Australia about British uniforms! If anybody has some desire to do some moding, there is a tiny anachronism in the British rank insignia, Specifically, the crown used for majors and lieutenant colonels who appear in large scenarios is the Crown of St. Edward, which, however, Queen Elizabeth II only adopted when she ascended the throne in 1953. From 1902 until then, the Tudor (or King's) Crown was generally used as the royal crown on post boxes, mail trucks, buildings, and elsewhere, including the rank insignia for officers of the British and other Commonwealth Armies.
Erwin
Yeah, I saw that and reposted on the modder's forum. He hates me now. Be warned...
