    Haha, alright.

Thinking critically about it, the easy way to go would be to implement West and East German Forces and be done with it. The only new assets needed would be some ramshackle Leopards but mostly you could get away with just American equipment "lend-leased" to the Germans. Of course I hope that I am completely wrong!

I guess the question is: will this be like the trim modules for Shock Force 2 or a like the big, fatty module that is Fire and Rubble? I am all for the latter!

So the reason I'm going with BAOR over Germany here is that there's not really any reason to advance the timeline just for Germany since both the Leo 2 and the Marder would be available in the current timeline. I think BAOR is the most likely one you would specifically move the timeline forward for. Though that's still not a guarantee.

All I want is more British Forces!

We need the BOAR in Cold War and we need the Brits in Black Sea.

Heck I am not even British but the only modern Brits we got are in Shock Force 2 and they are by far the most fun nation to play with. What would the US Marines do in the Ukraine and in a CWGH in Germany anyways?

I'm choosing to interpret "advancing the timeline" as a confirmation on the BAOR in CMCW. Up to '83 for the Chally 1 or up to '89 for the Warrior. I will not brook any alternate views on this matter.

There will be no replay feature for CM2. I've explained why and I don't really care if you accept it or not.  It just isn't a viable commercial feature.  Period, end of story.

You guys have also asked that we ship a pony with every game for a long time, and that's not going to happen either :)

    Steve

Sensitive topic apparently; but I'm curious why it's not viable for commercial. I missed whenever it was explained in the past and having used it in CMPE it seems to work pretty well.

What if as a joke they release a trailer for Combat Mission 3 and it’s a mobile game with micro transactions. They led a straight face for a week and explain that mobile is the best platform for milsims and micro transactions are there to give you a sense of pride and accomplishment.

    CM Touch 2, let's go

Aye hopefully it will be 'all good fun' :) thanks Steve.

Aye, this battle pack is set during the fighting between the German and Soviet armies in eastern Poland during the summer of 1944. This fighting was some of the heaviest on the Eastern Front during the entire war. This battle pack presents a series of actions recreating key moments in this fighting through the perspective of the forces involved during July and August.

It’s been a real labour of love. The genesis of this battle pack was the  series of images in the photo book Kampfgruppe Mühlenkamp published by RZM and authored by Douglas Nash and Remy Spezzano. On the back of this I started work on what became the Five Days One Summer campaign which is the key campaign of this battle pack.

This battle pack would never have got anywhere without the help and support of a whole bunch of others. I would like to give a huge shout out to all those including the BFC beta testers for all the playtesting, feedback, advice and support. I also indebted to Mr Douglas Nash for his freely given help and support in clarifying some of the details involved in several actions involving ‘Wiking’, notably the fighting around Tluszcz in mid-August 1944. If you’ve not checked out his recent trilogy “From the Realm of a Dying Sun” its well worth doing so for the background to this battle pack. Also worth having a look at is the “Operation Bagration 23 June-29 August 1944” by the Soviet General Staff which gives a ‘big picture’ view of the Soviet operations in this period.

I hope you all, as the players enjoy these scenarios and campaigns as much as I did researching and creating them. As always, I’d appreciate any comment and feedback and I look forward to seeing how this collection of scenarios and campaigns plays out for yourselves.

    Cheery!

    We love you George

    Actually it does not.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40_mm_grenade

It has HEDP, which would be hard pressed to destroy a BMP.

HEDP is a shaped charge, which is more or less synonymous with HEAT. (It's just naming convention really)

Plus it's rated for 63mm of penetration, and while the post-effect won't be great owing to the round size it's more than capable of destroying a BMP.

I use 'Save Intervals', usually various multiples of 5 minutes, depending on scenario duration & intensity.....I don't reload, but I often 'stop to think for a while' (days, weeks or even months).  ;)

    FWIW

I have been "stopping and thinking" for about a full year on Courage and Fortitude. Mostly I am thinking "please no more".

Updated Cold War (early February) - this extends the newly implemented PBEM++ system to include Slitherine's automated Tournament system.  Yup, you can now play for fame, glory, and at times fabulous prizes in a structured environment!

Is a fix for only one person being able to see the outcome of a PBEM++ match also on the cards there?

One issue re Soviet tactics is that in RL wouldn't the Soviets be maneuvering in larger formations than we usually see in CM scenarios?  eg:  In Battalion strength or more rather than company.  That would allow a lot more firepower to be focused on NATO positions to overcome them linearly.  And also a lot more casualties to be tolerated.

It's posts like this that really make me wonder if anyone on this forum actually plays CM
