  1. So, looked at the turn. One of the Soviet teams spots two of the Panthers immediately and the third once they stop running, and the one that didn't was still running at the end of the turn, but had strong partial spots on all three. Not really sure what the complaint here is.

Edit: Just want to say as well that it seems pretty dark

I suppose that Russian AFV's visibility in game has always been the issue of game design\political bias, it doesn't depend on any facts.

I doubt it as well and don't mean that there is some kind of consipiracy.

What I'm saying is that game model needs improvement and could be improved.

Its an interesting thesis but I don’t think Patton was assassinated. I view Patton through a spiritual lens. He was one of many war-like spirits sent to earth in a time of conflict. There were many such spirits sent to earth during WW2. When the war was over his spirit had no reason to be on the earth anymore and so he was recalled back to the heavens in a way that wouldn’t arouse suspicion to the mortals.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence he died as the war ended. Without conflict to sustain the violent spirit it was recalled to Mars’ side. One has seen this before with the great warriors, they die when the conflict ends because they can’t live without it, they have no purpose. The fact that he used his final days on earth trying to enlighten the mortals should be viewed as a positive IMO.

You know what, I've never thought about that. Same thing happened to Jock Campbell (PBUH). Africa was saved, so they recalled him to balance it out for the Germans. I imagine the same was done to Patton to give the Soviets a fighting chance.

I will. But I strongly suggest reading what Peter Hitchen has to say on this subject in his book The Phoney Victory, partly based upon the standard work on the bombing war by Richard Overy. Very balanced and informative.

    I will say no more.

Have you ever considered reading a book that wasn't written by a contrarian journalist out to prove a point?

Why not read Richard Overys book given that it's infinitely more related to the subject and written by an actual historian with a long history of writing well-respected books on the topic.

For what it is worth. Plot a waypoint with a move command highlight and plot a fire near a position you wish to move a scout to.

    scouting.jpg

From your first waypoint plot a second waypoint using the hunt command to the position you plotted your LOS to.

    scoutingb.jpg

Now drag your first waypoint near the waypoint of your hunt command.

    scoutingc.jpg

Move the unit you wish to use and plot a route as secure as possible.

Warning some games become boring using this method.

Okay but what do you achieve by doing this

They should be on the same game engine as all the other titles how though aren’t they (and I genuinely am not sure)?

There are some minor differences with RT and CW compared to the others, the pause/play button on the UI now lights up either symbol depending on whether the game is paused or playing, tabbing out seems to work a little different from the others (my example being that if I hit end turn on one of the "older" games, when I tab back in it'll be paused at the start of the turn replay, but on RT or CW, it will have started playing the turn out) and the needing to run as admin to overwrite saves are what I've noticed so far.

I expect the former is minor enough to not be worth a patch for the other games and the latter probably unintended quirks of some update.

  7. In the base RT and FR scenarios(at least as far as I'm aware, flicked through about half the FR scenarios and most of the base game ones), Soviet Rifle Battalion 44 squads are like this: 1332797389_Screenshot2021-06-20110136.png.227d4d8fe831ea2c5f967226e5e590c9.pngwith 3 teams

However when choosing a Soviet rifle battalion in the scenario editor, all the battalion 44 squads will be like this: 2130853784_Screenshot2021-06-20110220.png.90574c2eb40713592e8039a492ec2408.pngnear identical, but missing one of the teams.

Additionally; the 1st platoon of each company is now SMGs1978874498_Screenshot2021-06-20115754.thumb.png.783d3674cd0b034d4f574dddacc1d6d7.png

(1st battalion is the one currently in use for FR Katabasis, 2nd is an identical one I added for comparison of what's in the scenario compared to what we seem to get now(squads above are both taken from these formations)) No pictures, but I also pulled up some rifle battalions in June 1944 and it was the same.

Just wondering if this was intentional or a bug because I don't see any changes mentioned in the readmes or patch thread. Additionally, neither the base game or FR scenarios have squads like this, it's just what I get when I pick that formation now.

The examples I've used here are all Guards Rifle 44, but it seems to be consistent for regular rifle battalion 44s as well
