  1. Putin is a 69 yr old psycho/sociopath that has no regard or compassion for human life, rights etc. Imho, he likely sees this as his legacy/destiny and will continue to provoke the west (NATO) until they actually respond with arms. Probably when he pivots to take the Baltics after this campaign in Ukraine. ...Haiduk, have always appreciated your insightful posts on this forum; please stay safe and take care. Thank you BF for keeping this thread open.

  2. Hi Devs,

I'm experiencing a recurring bug in Cold War while using the standard camera movement it will suddenly freeze at random and will remain frozen btw ~30-120 secs. Sometimes it will pick up the movement after the elapsed time and others it will simply be a CTD. It seems general rather than scenario specific. Not sure if this has been reported already but would be great to have fixed in the coming patch. Running on an iMac Pro: Big Sur 11.2.3 - w/ plenty of Ram and processor power. Otherwise great game from BF, congrats to Bil H. and The Cap't. Cheers

I do not think there are any changes in this area that would effect them

They still will.  As with many things in the game there are plenty of variables that go into the TC's decision to button up.  I do not recall seeing any differences in this behaviour.  Some times they get the message and button up int time.  Sometimes they are slow and get hit.

Yeah that can happen.  That does seem short but their own morale state, training and leadership play a factor plus were they in command with the platoon HQ at the time?  That makes a significant difference too.

hadn't considered the C2 variable; that may be it. Thx

  4. two quick observations in this demo scenario; not sure if possible bugs or tacai changes?

    1. Had un-buttoned tc under small arms fire for an entire turn killed at 50 or so secs. Recall in other titles they would button themselves up after a few salvos..

    2. Had a regular squad under fire for less than 30 secs. No wia or kia but they remained rattled for the rest of the scenario?..

sorry no saves but perhaps others are seeing this as well.

Map is a work of art! Thanks

Frobodine, your point is actually well taken; too bad you've retreated. …blstk I’m not sure what you’re angle is but you’re probably a pretty smart guy with just a bit too much time on your hands. That being said, it’s unfortunate that to be considered a “member” of this forum, an absurd amount of dogged obsequiousness and not so thinly veiled snark is required for an unspecified amount of time until you have been inundated into, post my bunny of the month status. (sorry Emery’s)

Illustrating the point; as an acknowledged "lurker", I started a thread that was completely complimentary to Bud B and the franchise in general, hoping to possibly inspire some life and humor and it was initially well received; only it was quickly shut down by spam and more importantly, what reminded me of my grammar school principal…namely the moderator

In short; there is nothing family friendly about intentionally plastering human beings (pixellated or otherwise) with high explosive. There is nothing remotely family friendly about this subject matter in general. In contrast (and I would presume the devs agree), WW2 is the most significant event the world has ever experienced and the brilliance of CM is that it allows you to explore that event in the context of tactical analysis and execution without moral debt; an immense accomplishment!! However, I hope my own son is hopelessly consumed with @&#^ing the bejesus out of *birds* in barns before he’s ever consumed with smothering platoons with all the family love that CM provides; (I keep my screen doors well oiled) but I digress…

Point is; no one would be on this forum if they weren’t entirely impressed and daresay smitten by the tactical combat simulation that CM provides. Just, it would be nice if the devs/community were more welcoming to the “lurkers” beyond the 20-30 people that have primarily inhabited the “commentary” of the forum for its' duration. That respect should absolutely extended from the developers to their broader base. Fwiw, people like blstk maybe not so utterly wasteful and may contribute something meaningful if they were actually appreciated. Bombs away &

  6. Love it!

The downside to this is that you now will want to make sure the guy on the right gets home... You'll start to care...

I know; this is bad for my schizophrenia; thanks for the inspiration and next level of neurosis haha

    salut!

    "damnit only one cigarette!"

  7. 5-6 turns and Baneman's armor will be destroyed or disabled; then maybe another 5-10 turn mop up ending in a cease fire surrender... Purchase aside, Bil's skill level simply doesn't allow for any mistakes. It would have been really interesting for instance if Bil were playing the Germans with these force compositions. Maybe in the next AAR we can see Bil defend Bastogne or some other blighted situation where he takes down a platoon or two of tigers with 2 hellcats and a few bazooka teams..;-)

  8. Gents,

I'm not much of a conversationalist; ahem hence my one post.. but I seriously love these games and the AARs are fantastic. Unfortunately, (and I do hope I eat these words) do you think that this game has already been lost in the purchase phase for Baneman? I feel that we've seen this happen in almost all of Bil's AARs where the less experienced player consistently makes the mistake of not purchasing enough armor and summarily gets routed. Seems that once Bil knocks out the Panthers and then at least disables the systems of the Jagtiger it's going to be over. Hate to be a scrooge, but man I wish we could see a really even match.   ....Best wargame/franchise out there; hands down. Vic
