  1. I heard that you can enjoy 1:2 or 2:2 PBEM multi in CMBS, which is not perfect but still enjoyable. How is that working? I'm curious about detailed process. Is this A(1) -> A (2) -> B (1) -> B (2)? or A(1) ->  B(1) -> A(2) -> B (2)? A and B are team, 1 and 2 are players.

Also, if 1 vs 2 is possible, then can I join AI vs 2 players PBEM multi? In this case, is this should be multiplay PBEM? or should both player share the save file against single AI?

    Thanks

  2. I think my engineer squad is definitely right in front of the mine zone, but the "mark mines" button is not activating at all.

Should I walk in the mine zone with "move" command? Or should I need to crawl around with "slow" command? Or should I just keep them stand still for 2~3 minutes until find something?

How can I 'mark' mines and let my vehicles move clear?

    Thanks

  3. The M1A2 is the better tank by a good margin. I blame modern FPSes and more conventional RTSes for giving the impression they're somehow equal tanks, but the T-90AM only narrows the gap in capabilities, it does not erase it.

T-72B3 isn't bad. Against the Ukrainian platforms it is very capable, and against American tanks...I guess I consider it somewhere around the T-90A in terms of capabilities. It's not great, but well placed it can still do some damage, and the APS version isn't anything to sneeze at if the American player only has a few tanks or does not have Abrams at all.

    +1

And still, there are lots of Russian fanboyz who still claims "my t90 is not that week" or "t90 should destroy m1a2 equally".

All those games sacrificed a lot for multiplay balance. Usual gamers (specially wargame rd and battlefield) never know that, and blame m1a2 supporters as victim of murican propaganda. Im really tired of those fanboys.

Murakhovski mentioned about new Russian thermal. Resolution upgraded. I heard those new thermals were already developed, but it seems that now they are just about to supplied. It will be installed in T14

    Освоено:
    Агат-МДТ - 320х256, ФПУ 3-5 мкм, арсенид галлия - индий, Россия.

ФПУ 8-12 мкм, 768x576, КРТ, Россия

  5. Both use same 125mm gun. I don't know what kind of KE shells are used, but if the ingame-T90AM use svinets-1, then the T-90AM would have better punch. Ingame-Oplot use 3BM-42. Good shell, but svinets is a bit better. (http://fofanov.armor.kiev.ua/Tanks/ARM/apfsds/ammo.html)

Since I have no idea about the defensive ability of ingame-Duplet (or Nozh2) and ingame-Relikt, I can't comment on their armor.

  6. Somehow I get the information about new patch from 'deep throat' of BFC. This is quite shocking news. Let me briefly introduce the new patch plans. This will entirely change the CMBS

    1) Armata and m1a2 ecp1 will be added with its most accurate estimation. T-34/85 and M60 will be added as a reserve tank battalion.

    2) New feature regarding bridge destruction and airplane modelling inside the game.

    3) Now Paladin and Msta can shell the dpicm shell, and mine shells. Heavy rocket launchers will be added, but would be possible only one salvo per a game.

    4) Even tactical nuke from air / arty is planned to update.

Was this picture introduced? Anyway, this is a picture of Obj 195 (T-95). This could be a decent level tank, but as we all know, price was too high. But the technology and spirit of this experimental weapon were inherited to T-14. Already the turret looks similar with T-14 leaked pictures, though it was hidden behind the curtains.  Anyway, I imagine that if T-14 have a 30mm autocannon, it should be like T-95, just a bit left side of a main gun. Also I can see CITV, APS, and radar(?) of T-95..... I guess Armata might adapted this T-95's design, specially for turret part.

Murakhovski "praised" T-14 a lot. (He is a very reliable Russian expert, unlike the other bluffers). As the more leakages coming out, more I feel that the Armata might be a real thing, enough to break my bias against Russian weapons. (well, like I mentioned somewhere in the forum, I still think that overall tech level is not enough against US)  Abrams will begin ECP1 in 2017, so I hope the next expansion of CM:BS would include T-14 and M1A2 SEP v3 ECP1 (or M1A2 ECP1 ?? ) That will be really interesting match.

  8. They have developed new, much longer round call "Grifel" for 2A82.

Oh, it was mentioned that earlier somewhere in this forum and totally forgot about that new shell. Thanks to let me know. Anyway, not that much things are know yet about those new shells. Russians finally throw away their old-fashioned two-pieced shorter perpetrator system.

  9. Well the way it works is when playing the game by email, 2 players would play on either side and control certain units. So for example, player 1 controls A company, and player 2 on the same side controls B company, the turn is traded back and forth between each of the two players for there respective "units".

Play by email means 1 minute turn based only? Anyway, that is a good idea, limiting each player's role as a company or platoon sized troops commander. I also hope to try if I have a chance to play a multi.

  10. How do you think about the result of scenario of 2017' PLA vs US Army (or US marines) in urban / mountainous terrain like S Korea now? This could be really interesting match. Though Chinese armor would be hard to match against M1A2 SEP, their infantry mass and fire power would be still challenging for US troops.

  11. This might be interesting. DPRK army would be depicted as cheap but swarming army concept. Not sure about PLA but PLA might be upgraded version of DPRK army or slight downgraded version of Russian Army. DPRK army tends to rely on tons of arty shells, and 1/4 of them are expected to be chemicals. Their arties are old, but massive in number, both MLRS and Howitzers. Also they favors shock infantry, light infantry / special forces to make "crack" on the line, as well as operate them behind the line to confuse the enemy. I could think of factions as DPRK, China, RoK, and US. Very interesting match up IMO.

But I don't know how BFC thinks about far-east Asian conflict in selling point of view. Also, units and terrain are very different, so I agree that this should be titled as new CM series, not an expansion.

  12. Based on my experience in this game so far, I found that the AI (regardless of factions) likes to push to the same way, same road, or same positions inside a scenario.

Once I firstly take the "sweet spot" of the map (some important buildings, important crossroad, or important openings in the woods, treelines) faster than AI, the AI get ambushed and took heavy casualties by my troops. After then, usually real world counterparts (and humans) choose different positions to attack, circumvent to hit the flank, or try to become far more sneaky with the plan B. On the other hand, it seems that the game's AI push his 2nd / 3rd wave with the very same points with the same attack speed and very same way with the first wave, though the AI knows his troops were annihilated there, and my atgm / tanks are hiding there.

It is very hard to describe or judge everything of AI about attack, since AI only "tends to" choice the same plan with the first wave, which means it is not "always" happening. However, I think (or I feel) AI likes to stands with his original plan of the first wave, doing no precaution with my already-known-ambushed positions (only arty shells + air strikes are everything I can expect). No flanking or no luring or no sneaky back-stabbing. ( If it was multiplayer, I should move my positions before any flanking attempts. )

I know it is hard to make AI very smart like that, but after I watched 2 atgm teams + 1 tunguska in good spot became the hero of Russian federation by murdering tons of Strykers + US riflemans in the same ambush position, (It was "rolling on the river" battle and I was playing as Russians) I wish the AI in this game more sneakier, deadlier, and smarter then now. They just keep pushed the same position with quick moving speed without any other supports over and over again to my AT nest. I was in warrior difficulty. Is it difficult to make AI back-stab or flank the player's position under specific conditions?

  13. Regardless of ethnicity or nationalty, usually most of soldiers are cowards. It needs great courage and strength (mental and physical) to stand and run, or just heads up above the ditches, when you know the bullets are coming to your way. What I mean "great" is not just a word, more close to superhuman-like thing. If that bullets are more bigger than 12mm, I can pretty much guarantee that most of soldiers (even for well trained veterans) will just try to hide and cover, and can't do anything useful. Well trained, highly motivated combat veterans might do a reaction to such suppression fire, but still, they will feel hard to do something useful.

Remember, you are playing game. In real life, one single unlucky ricochet could take your life away, or at least ruins your life, looking like Dr Hawking. (Im chemistry major and no ill intentions regarding Dr Hawking) 12.5mm bullet can literatually "explode" any human with single direct hit. No one can simply just stand and do what they need to do, even under a couple of ak74 5.45mm fires. Don't even need AKMs or PKMs. No exception for US soldiers.

You can ignore all of them because you can simply save n load. But there are no save n reload in real life, and one unlucky ricochet can lead you to meet your creator. As the game try to simulate all possible aspects of warfare as much as it can, I could understand why CM soldiers look like cowards, and I like this point when compare to wargame series.

  14. About the panic.

Soldiers can't easily find where the shootings are coming from, specially worse when they are panicked. I can understand why some soldiers run to "wrong" direction when they are being ambushed. They could have no idea where the shootings are coming from, or they misjudged enemy position.... Everything can happen on the battlefield. Their time to think and analyze is too short, but bullets don't care about that.

Of course you know the direction since you are watching from high above, but soldiers are not.

Not sure it is true or not, and need a cross check. There is a slight chance of T-14 appearance on this Friday, during rehearsal training for VD parade.

"The latest rehearsal for what is planned to be the biggest Victory Day parade in Russia's recent history is scheduled for Friday, at 6:45 a.m., so it's possible that the Armata tank will appear as soon as this week."

I can easily imagine that major part (pretty much almost all part) will be hidden behind the curtains and covers. Still, this will be interesting.
