I'm pretty sure that between here and Steam he's been shown that stuff before.

Its deja vu all over again.

The tactical maps look an awful lot like Armored Brigade. With some overlays.
-
I think rarity takes some of those factors into account in abstraction if rarity is on.
-
I have seen one way to transition from CMSF to CM WW2 is play the Syrians for a bit in CMSF. You'll either learn great tactics or die.

For all he knows, I just might hate history.

Probably one of the best youtube channels that covers units, tactics, specific battles, etc. Might be the best game intro channel of any wargame.

You can play that exact battle/operation in Graviteam's Operation Victory as a DLC for Mius Front. I think there is a Steel Beasts scenario for it as well.

For those of us who hate history.

So where did the list come from then? There is at least one air battle. How does CM model that? And at two of the operations were a large scale across large fronts with separate battles from those operations on the list also. One of the operations you listed was a broad reorganization of recon units and wasn't a even a battle by itself.
I'm still not sure why you would link to empty wiki pages to make your case. Couldn't you have linked to something that laid it out?
-
Its a strange list. Some of the battles listed are explicitly included, some listed are really parts of larger battles/operations, some are dead links in wiki, and at least 1 or 2 are air battles. Not a great deal of due diligence might be why no one cares.
edit: Several of them don't really translate to a good CM battle. There were Allies meeting a little resistance and then pulling back and shelling a town into rubble. A few are really operations that were more about organizational changes to support other units.

I think part of the same series as above. Thought it gave a solid and simple layout of a Soviet offensive straurcture in the early 1980s.

Is CM the only game out there still having this issue? I assume thats why other old OpenGL-based games have tended to move to Vulcan.
-
You have a similar issue with a few other ATGMs. The missile could be located away from the firing soldier. Saggar comes to mind.

Thats because you edited the message.

That proves you've never read the manual
Well...I'm not the one asking about a fundamental function of the game that differentiates it from all others. I'm also not the one splattering questions all over the place here and on Steam. Again, you are correct. The game probably isn't the one for you.
-
I think the OP might be playing the wrong game, as he admits. Or maybe just take a glance at a manual now and then. There's a time for "RTFM" and a time to actually read the manual.

Everyone knows Patton was gamey. He never followed the house rules.

Did you read my posts? Why would ask that when I stated right there that I use it. It doesn't change game play one bit. It sure seemed like a simple question.

I spend way more time in the drivers seats and in the foxholes with my teams. The eye candy combined with mods are just way more enjoyable than the stock game. I don’t know what else to say. More time with the troops means more detail for me as commander. I often pick up sound contacts or find a LOS I would have missed if I wasn’t engrossed in the movie.
So, again, I am not seeing how reshade makes game play different. Enjoyment due to graphics is not game play. Game play is the mechanics of playing the game.
-
Well that changes your enjoyment of it. But thats not the definition of game play. I use reshade of various types in most of my games. But I play the games the exact same way. Can you point out how you play CM differently with reshade. Give me a before and after, if you can.

While reshade can make the game look better, does it really improve game play?

My understanding is that the PT-76 was an amphibious close support weapon for recon units. The key being amphibious to cross water barriers that tanks couldn't do easily. It wasn't built to be shot at. It was built to get HE support to recon units that would have to cross water barriers. Soviet planning was all about crossing rivers quickly as possible. Then hold a bridgehead for a short time until bridging equipment allowed tanks to cross. The PT-76 could do that. And it could be airlifted. But when field commanders see it, they think they can use like a tank. Thats why you saw so many wrecked PT-76s in Vietnam and the MidEast.
