  1. I agree 110% with you on that one. If onlt they could give the option of macking scenario, quick game without it. Im sure its not hard to remove and i can hardly see a counter-argument to give more option to players to customize their scenario/quick battle(really want that on quick battle mind you) as it is an option and those who really want to have time limit could keep it so everyone wins in the end!!

VBS2 and similar platforms are pretty crappy training aids.  For vehicles, they're just bad, none of the switchology works and the capabilities of vehicles in the VBS2 system are fairly unrealistic.  CCTT was a much better trainer given it came with all the switches and was positively punishing in vehicle performance.  It did suffer from being a dinosaur system though.

For dismounted stuff, VBS2 required too much "learning" how to operate in.  Like any time you put someone in with it, it was going to take an hour of your three hour block to sort of learn how to move and issue commands.  And it didn't practice anything that was especially relevant to the rifleman level of things.

Never got good results from it.  For virtual mounted options CCTT was the only way to go, for dismounted stuff, there was more cheaper and effective training by finding a small bit of land to run around and yell "bang bang" at each other on.

I was sure the us used steel beast or something like that for armor simulation.

Watching the first part of that video really gives me a hankering for early war StuG action. I recall from Wittman's bio that he started out with those short 75's.

It give me nostalgia of barbarossa to berlin!!!! Damn i loved the early war mode (love the mid a late stuffs to!) Damn i want a new barbarossa game!

You are wrong my naive friend.. Have a great day :D

Lets not forget that we are in  a discution between adults here so please act like on and if you have more argument then come back with facts and/or proofs not child-like comment like that.

Also for that topic, i would say that the german thought that their 20mm wasnt enough against the air forces of the allied an wanted a bigger calliber is 37mm (and even trid 50mm) so that say a lot to the usefullness of the 7,92mm AAMG.

  5. Grey = rolled homogeneous steel

    Yellow/gold = a fiberglass-like filler

    White: air gap

The boxy shapes are various types of explosive reactive armor, I believe.

I'm not sure about the blue and green layers off the top of my head.

    Make sense! Thank you!

To kick the discussion back on its track. Here are glacis compositions for main Soviet medium and main battle tanks. Most of it is fairly common knowledge, but I never really found it amalgamated into one clear visual representation:

Do you have a legend for what the colors are supposed to represent?

  7. Hello everyone,

I'm thrilled about that new module coming out as i love the late US and german forces and going on until VE day , i could learn about battle that i dont know. As it is anouced that we will see a Commonweath module for this installement, i was wondering myseld what was the new thing that we will see with the Brits and maybe wint the Canadian? What new equipements , vehicles and tactics we will see in the late war that is different from CMBN?

    Thank you,

    Panzerpanic

  8. Another question on top of that. Do the ai of the tank switch to sabot when.they see theirr.missile being intercepted or they lunch them until death or if you are lucky, until they dont have any more atgm. Also for a tips, i had some succes by dashing my oplot to the midle right of the map near the swamp (at least i think its a swamp ) where i had some lucky engagements against the enemy armors and ifv.

  9. Now maybe harsh, but I belive there's something wrong with the T-64, both versions, in terms of spotting there might be bugs.

On the BMP-3 and 100mm be careful though, BMP-3 have the bad habit of using their ATGM as area of effect weapon before passing to the ABHE (order shoot area).

I really hope so for the 64, at last for the bulat, i just dont take them anymore if i face tank and even, i tend to be jumby when facing even bmp2 as im not sure who will come on top because of their blindness.

Also i didnt know for the bmp3! Funny behavior that they would use their missile for aoe fire , knowing that at last will save me some atgm!!!!
