Chineese ambasador in France made a statement that ex-USSR countries don't have a soverreign status.

BTW in Russia since autumn of 2022 signature campaing has been lasting under appeal to Supreme Court to recognize USSR desintigration by Belovezha Accords as illegal.

Also there is some concerning in Ukriane about France efforts to use a China to convince Ukriane and Russia (but Ukraine first of all) to cease fire and start negociations.

I am not surprised by the Chinese ambassador's remarks. The Chinese always see things in their interest. Not recognizing Ukraine, which has "secession" from the USSR and Russia, is to make an undertone with Taiwan, which has separated from China...

Regarding your concerns, whatever happens you are the only masters on board to choose when there will be a ceasefire. Even if France ceased its support, many other Western countries will still be there. You are determined and within your rights! "Russian warship, go f*ck yourself" !

PS: the journalist still puts it in his face 🤣

I had to remind myself what it actually stands for.  Found one definition "persons approximately".  Military types can tell us if it is a common US term at this level of documentation, as it seems it has its roots in Europe.

    Steve

It is also a common term in French Army particularly at low level units (platoons, company etc). It seems its origin came from a reduction of "passenger".

@Taranis what would this rate do to barrel life? When would replacement be needed?

Sorry for such a late response. I don't really know the confidentiality of certain information so I will remain vague but the French doctrine for use provided for use in "war" of maintenance teams for a rate of 180 shells per day per gun for a few months (I remain deliberately vague on the months).
So it seems reasonable with the French job.
Barrel life would be around 2500 rounds

  4. Moldovan President worries about possible Russian coup

    Quote

The Moldovan president, the pro-European Maia Sandu , expressed concern on Monday about a possible Russian coup against her government. "The plan [of Moscow] provides for attacks on state buildings and the taking of hostages by saboteurs with a military past camouflaged in civilian clothes," Ms. Sandu told the press. "The goal is to overthrow the constitutional order and replace the legitimate power of Chisinau with an illegitimate one ," she added.

Mentioned by the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Brussels last week, this information comes from documents intercepted by the Ukrainian secret services. Moldovan intelligence had confirmed the information without giving details, claiming to have  "identified activities aimed at weakening and destabilizing"  this former Soviet republic of 2.6 million inhabitants located between Romania and Ukraine.

According to Ms. Sandu, the Kremlin is counting on  “the involvement of internal forces”  such as the party of the fugitive pro-Russian oligarch Ilan Sor, but also possible Russian, Belarusian, Serbian and Montenegrin nationals.

In this context, the Moldovan President announced a legislative project aimed at giving prosecutors and intelligence services  “the necessary instruments to effectively combat national security risks” .

Moldova, a candidate since the summer of 2022 for entry into the European Union (EU) , which is going through a serious energy crisis, has been denouncing for months  "the blackmail of Russia" , which has halved its gas deliveries. .

Chisinau must also deal with the threat of Russian soldiers and a large Russian stockpile of ammunition in the pro-Russian separatist region of Transnistria .

People who have arrived in Belarus by plane "must apply for an exit visa from the services of the Belarusian Ministry of the Interior" , details the Quai d'Orsay.

Reportedly the French parliament is at this very moment debating sending Leclercs to Ukraine - not if they should do it, but how to solve the logistical challenges. @Taranis care to comment/ confirm that?

Sorry, guys I have very big family and personal problems right now and I'm a little less connected to the news (even if I continue to follow the forum and the events). I risk being less present and responsive and I apologize for that.

At present, the television news is omnibilized on the big strikes which take place (reform of the pensions). Very little information on the tanks therefore goes back.

The delivery of tanks is still currently a hypothesis and subject to debate by the Senate. The objective of the delivery would be mainly symbolic in order to push our German friends to deliver their tanks (as the AMX-10RC raised the question)
