  1. "If you don't think there is enough value in the pack, don't buy it" - you do not need anyone to explain it, it sounds like the words of Marie Antoinette - S'ils n'ont pas de pain, qu'ils mangent de la brioche! - Let them eat cake! This is not an argument in the discussion.

In revolutionary France people did starve because something they needed (bread) was too expensive.

In this formum people are complaining because something they obvioulsy dont really want is too expensive.

Chances are the BF team can keep their heads on their shoulders.

  2. You forgot that you have to multiply by the number of purchases over the coming weeks.

You are aware you cant make a living on 66cents and you need to make a profit to have an incentive to go on providing support and enhancement to the game?

If cost/ pricing is a big issue I recommend thinking about the price of a cup of tea vs a Long Island Iced Tea in relation to the content provided. Pricing is a miracle even when you are putting a bag of dried herbs in hot water.

As far as I am concerned these guys may bath in riches as long as they provide content for a game I spend hours on and that costs me a fracture of my monthly TV/ Internet bill.

  3. I have a save from the deployment phase. Should that help?

I decided to put some effort into solving the mystery and can answer my own question: No!

I have to admit it actually wasnt an effort since I just loaded the setup and hit go to get a unit revealed with impossible LOS after some seconds into the turn.

I was not too much interested in the vehicles since I am not that into military history. Well tanks with flamethrowers are badass, but thats not what makes this game great for me.

I purchased the pack because I think BF should be supported for making and supporting a great game. I understand, that you get what you pay for in more ways than just in buying a single product. If you want a nice bar scene in town go out and drink and when your live is over buy good computer games from guys that put some effort into it ;).

I also hoped the minor bugs that creapt back in with the engine upgrade I recently purchased would be eliminated.

I love playing campaigns because I get immersed in them and attached to my pixeltroops who suffer for my blunders. In that sense the game is now broken for me. Regarding the Road to Montebourg campaign - which is a great one - perhaps for good.

I think it would have been better to wait for the free patch and let other players do the testing.

Thanks to YankeeDog, Lille and Ken in another thread for the feedback I am now going to directly ask for support since I have no information whatever what can/ will be done.

Dont get me wrong. I dont know much about releasing computer games but I earn my money in services and know that things can go wrong. I also know how to react to such things.

  4. It was an order phase. I was experimenting because I forgot whether the Jeep would wait for his passengers. He does not. I ended the game and started from the same file adding a pause order and then happened what I described above.

It is completly strange because troops beeing two or three hedgerows apart without any chance for LOS or LOF are exchanging fire. Why exactly these troops (surely not everything the enemy has) are revealed is a mystery. It also took some seconds into the turn to show up.

Having thought about it I think that I already was engaged with the forward part of bigger formation (a Shreck and possibly an LMG and some other infantry team) and that this whole formation not only got spotted but also thought they could fire at me thanks to some freak Code. The newly revealed guys are holding a single location distinctly apart from the three teams already engaged.

I have a save from the deployment phase. Should that help?

  5. Thanks for the info. At least the campaign has not to be restarted.

 The scenario is spoiled for me thanks to revealed enemy positions. A warning would have been appreciated.

On the positive side driving my engineers in the jeep through the staging area feeling perfectly secure and everyone around them suddenly opening fire had its moment.

  6. I just installed the vehicle pack and started an ongoing scenario.

It was until now some scouting and shifting forces with limited contact on one flank. I zoomed down to some little jeep staring from a completely secure staging area and was wondering why each and everyone around him suddenly opened fire.

Zooming out enemy positions some hedgerows away were fully revealed and exchanging fire with my troops ignoring absolutly impossible LOF.

Dont tell me I have to restart my campaign.

  7. Translation for dummies (I made it, you will make it too):

    1. download pack

    2. install pack with exe

    3. start game and enter license key

    4. be angry that you dont have the nice little symbols on the start screen you had before

    5. use the activate thing described above for each and every module upgrade or whatever you purchased (or the big pack as in my case)

    6. be happy the little symbols are back and there is some text about version 3.10, that was not there before

    7. check if you find a f*** flamethrower tank in a QB setup - be angry again

    8. use the activate thing for the pack you just purchased

    9. be happy about a new funny little symbol

    10. write a stupid posting, say goodbye to your wife and children and lock yourself in a dark room

  8. If you play the Road to Nijmegen campaign there are a mission of the

same kind, think its called "Papenberg" something to look forward to :D

    LF

One road after the other :).

Greatly enjoyed the scenario. My "unconventional" approach brought the chance to harass the enemy on the approach breaking up the attack a bit and some dirty close combat in the end making me value every single .45 bullet. All with lots of great positions to find and the need to shift your sparse forces now and then. Was intense from start to the end. Chapeau to the designer.

Its a pity campaign missions cant be played as battles since this has some replay value.

  9. Just fast forwarded through the video and have to admit I owe my success to completly misunderstanding my orders :).

I "defended" the forward objective with two LMG teams and retreated them as soon as they got serious incoming. The AI refused to take it and concentrated on my right channelling them into some great killing zones and attacked my center through the cornfield - they never knew what hit them. My left was a ATG and the two LMGs providing security - never fired a shot.
