  1. Running PBEM games, the bigger ones sure take a long time to load. They love hanging at 29% sometimes for 2 min or more. I'm assuming its a PC problem but any tips to speed things up? Thanks...
  2. I am - in how it models combat. When I'm in the mood for a quick game, give me some infantry and a few tanks.
  3. I agree. When I have a couple hours to kill, it would be great to jump on with another guy and go at it instead of hoping your PBEM opponent will send you his turn. I would love to try an IP game just for the heck of it.
  4. You're not convincing me here. Have a Platoon level I can pick quick and easy.
  5. Why is everything Battalion strength? What a huge hassle trying to amass a small force...unless I'm doing something wrong. How can this be done easier? Also - are individual units more expensive than when purchased via formation? Pax, nickā„¢
  6. Indeed. I had a game of Air Assault on Crete under my bed for 6 months while we slugged it out via snail mail. No small feat! That was a long board.
  7. That game along with Air Force/Dauntless was heaven on earth. I've always been partial to tactical level games. Midway...Sniper...the NJ Wargames Club in Edison, NJ. Sniff.
  8. Ahh, my first wargame. It was out a few years when I bought it. I started when I was 13. Do the math!
  9. Wow. How did they goof that one up? Maybe I should have stayed back in 2001. oh well. It is prettier. And 2.0 has a Pause feature so I'll have to get used to it.
  10. Long time but if it wasn't Pktaske I'm pretty sure it was Recwyte. I'm hunting through some old stuff. I remember a couple guys that were pretty darn good. Think I have old documents somewhere that have names I can throw around.
  11. I'm new to BFN but did CMBO big time back in its heyday. PC battles were OK but going H2H is where its at for me. I used to participate in lots of tourneys and loved going online and jumping into QB's with other mates by swiping IP's. I forget exactly where this was but could it have been hosted by Battlefront itself? We're talking 10+ years ago. Anyway, does a similar community exist today? The only suggestion listed imagine in these times there isn't an even better way to connect in real time vs.we did a decade ago (please tell me I'm right!). I'd even be willing to run a tourney if someone can point me in the right direction. Sorry I took the easy way out here and posted before searching. I'm going to delve into the forums now to see what I can unearth. Hopefully there is a thriving chat room somewhere that I can join!
  12. Love to but thats way more than I can chew right now. See my other post.
