Am watching the excellent British crime show DCI Banks. In it, some sort of higher order police unit referred to as soco or soccer has taken an interest in the case because the local investigations impinge on a huge case involving an MP.
So far, the closest I've been able to get to understanding the presumptive acronym is SOCO (Scene Of Crime Officer), somewhat akin to the American CSI. Obviously, that SOCO can't be right, for whatever it is that's intervened has resources Yorkshire's MCU (Major Crimes Unit) can only dream of, to include the ability to magically provide expensive electronic whiteboards despite severe budget problems at the MCU level.
Would someone from the U.K. please provide the correct acronym, definition and such so that I can more readily follow what seems to be a significant aspect of British police work?
Regards,
John Kettler
SOCA, Serious Organised Crime Agency. HQ in London, but with regional offices.

Your probably right.. better take the extra weeks to iron out those bugs. Very much looking forward to another quality BFC product
Yes it's what Battlefront do, it is a quality product unlike the near disaster of a release of Rome Total War 2 a couple of weeks ago. On the 3rd patch already.
Battlefront's commercial independence is it's major strength. No Sega calling the shots and creating a release date with it's coming out ready or not.
I know which one I prefer.

Sounds like the real army

Only two days ago whilst playing a QB a squad of Panzer Grenadiers emerged from a building behind a Sherman in the same square and destroyed it with a Panzer Faust from behind. The accompanying infantry then mowed them down. Concealment is all.

Absolutely brilliant.
My old man used to say that in Africae the call he always heard was "Come on get your knees brown". He ended up in Ethopia in 1941 a campaign he described as particularly savage.

It is amazing what happens when you combine a couple of truckloads of money and a game system that is designed to be a fun, abstract, and simplified version of warfare. All sorts of things can happen. Obviously neither situation will ever happen for Combat Mission. Because even if we did have truckloads of money, we'd quickly run into choices between deep, realistic gameplay or graphics. Though no doubt a couple hundred thousand spare bucks lying about could definitely make a single CM release look better. Of course then everybody would want the same for every release, so we're back to truckloads of money again
Though I do wonder how up close and person one usually gets in that game. I haven't played it, but RTS games are usually only practically playable with the camera pretty high up in the virtual sky.
Steve
You just keep on doing what you already do please.
