  1. I didn't mean that map preview was unavailable. Rather, I meant it was not selected as part of the that game.
  2. Other note. I am running version 1.10 with the Commonwealth module. My understanding is that the CW module makes sure I am updated with the patches. I know these problems can be tough to find. I am willing to help as much as necessary to get to the bottom of this. I love this game and want to see it working right. Bug or no bug it is still the best computer war game I have ever seen.
  3. Also, there was no map preview. I have tried numerous different selections and combinations of human select vs computer select.
  4. I am sending an email as requested above. Note I see people in the forum I am playing on report this problem all the time. The problem is clearly not fixed. I am playing on a mac. PBEM game. All the details are in the briefing. This is the third game in a row that is not starting up right. Before I sent the invite for the PBEM I used these settings for a hotseat game so I could make sure the settings were right. Every hotseat game I started up was correct. email incoming.
  5. this is my first QB and I can't get the game to start up correctly. I am playing on a Mac vs a PC player. We are going all the way to the set up turn and the set up zones are definitely reversed. I will send you the next file that I do that does this. All the others are deleted although I might be able to pull them out of the trash. I should also note that I am using the CW module which includes the latest patch. The other note is that I see reports of this problem all the time still. I am playing in a pretty large forum, The Few Good Men.
  6. there are no files in the incoming email directory. After seeing that error I thought maybe if I delete them out it would fix it. It didn't. Before I did that there was only one file in the directory
  7. making some progress, but still not there. What does the following error mean? OSError: [Errno 24] Too many open files: '/Applications/CM Battle for Normandy/CM Battle for Normandy.app/Contents/Resources/Game Files/Incoming Email' I think I figured out the copy issue. You did not use the default "File" and "Edit" menus from the apple developers toolbox. You don't have the copy function on for this program.
  8. I like the idea of it, but the Mac implementation is having many problems. I can't get the chat to work. I can't point the game to an alternate folder. The program quits on me. The copy function is not working. I attempted to copy the path for the folder, but the copy doesn't in fact copy anything. Sorry. I like the program. Hope we can get the Mac version running.
  9. OMG! There it is! A quick check shows me the data in the lower right and the arrow key now works. I am gonna go check the PBEM tank moving issue. I have tank movement in a PBEM game! I think the problem is fixed. Once again, the atomic gamer file downloads with a .html extension that breaks it. Without knowing to take off the extension someone won't be able to make that file work. The Gamefront link gives the old patch. I know that the other links don't work well either because I have tried them all. The links need fixing. Thanks for sticking with me and helping me find the problem. I think I am good to go now.
  10. Atomic gamer gave me one of the broken links. Here is the name of the file, Combat_Mission_Battle_for_Normandy_1.01_Mac_Patch.zip.html. The .html is the problem. When I open the file, Safari opens up and gives me a giant screen of junk. I don't know how to fix this. OK, I took off the .html extension and now it opened up like a proper .zip file. I got the patch and installed it. Now I am gonna go check the game.
  11. I have actually tried every link. Two of them were broken. I am sorry I can't remember which ones. What is the correct date? Is it 7/22 or something later? I am gonna go try atomic gamer now.
  12. I had another thought. I sounds like the problems I am experiencing are specifically from the first 1.01 patch. How did I get that? Given that I dumped the program file tonight and redownloaded the whole program and then redownloaded the patch from the direct link, I don't understand how I could be having these problems. After tonight, I should never have seen the first 1.01 patch on my computer. I should only have the updated 1.01. When I dumped the program, all I did was take the CMBN folder and move it to the trash. I didn't look for any other files to remove. Was there something else I should have removed? Side note: if the newest patch was called 1.01.a then this would be a lot easier to figure out.
  13. Yes, we understand now. The numbered instructions are there. They tell us to select the folder directly. We have done this, probably 4 times now. No changes. The only process we see is directions telling us how to and what folder to install into. If that is what you are referring to then it has been done.
  14. I didn't see anything about a multiple installs process. The text tells me to read the instructions for a multiple install process, but there are no actual instructions. My friend and I read through all the text. The only options I saw were the folder to install into. We thought that there might be an issue on what folder to install into. Either the CM Battle for Normandy folder or the game files folder. Of course if we don't select the location option then neither of those are selected and it just installs onto the main hard drive.
