Pershings!!!
Edit: I'm excited about everything else as well. I'm really looking forward to the BAOR module, and to fighting through Utah beach and Carentan. But we were just talking in the 2023 thread (a couple months ago) about whether or not Pershings would be included in the CMFB module. So I'm excited to see that they have been.
Yes, my M-26 Pershing will take on the Panther in Cologne Cathedral. Then the King Tiger from the sides. Oh, Super Pershing's perhaps. I might be pushing my luck a bit.

I checked my version of CMFB and it indicates engine 4 2.03. Then I read that, if I understand it correctly, the I need to have version 2.10. Or is that the new version. I must say I am somewhat confused.

Can we people out in cyberspace the world over get a 2024 update. I really don't think it's too much to ask, but having said that perhaps it is. Well, I'm asking non the less.
Thanks,
Mark Cerull

OMG you got it thanks buddy. Now whether this vehicle ever saw combat or not is relevant to me. In any event it was too little too late for number of reasons. One was that transportation issues. The Pershing would not fit on the existing system we the USA had in place. That's why the Sherman was the main tank of the war. Did the M4 stand a head-to-head fight on Panther, no. Are guys flanked them and shot them on the sides. There is no doubt in my mind that the Sherman won the war by sheer weight of numbers. The USA out produced the Germans and the Japanese in every weapon system period. By the end of the war, we overwhelmed them by sheer weight of numbers.

Okay, I'll try it out. The discord deal was a bust for me, but I'm kind of a moron when it comes to this stuff. There are some photo's that I would really like to post.

I'm in Discord and I don't know were I am to go and paste anything. Again I am not that good at this stuff. I think I am getting close just the same.

I messed around with a different one than those. I'll give them a shot, thanks.

I must apologize for my lack of knowledge in advance. Can someone please give me some advice on how the hell you can post a decent photo on the forum that will conform to the restriction in size. For the love of Pete I cannot figure it out. I would consider myself to be average computer person, or so I thought. The almighty Google God has failed me thus far. I must say my wife is somewhat annoyed at my profanity in this attempt. It's time for me to take my blood pressure medication. Thanks in advance for any consideration.

I have some comments about this long held BFC paradigm. This is not against your quoting it.
I am a 3rd rate apprentice amateur Blender modder. I have dabbled with the models and did some crude and rudimentary changes to cobble together various "mods" for my amusement and fun.
I think the world of 3D modeling and the supply of 3D modelers has exploded since CMBN came out. The other day I was poking my nose in some CMBS 3D flavor object models and saw the basic mesh elements were written in Russian. Flowerpot was in Russian as gorshok. Hmmmm. Maybe Brazil Cassio LIma 3D studio is scrapped and some discount modders have been found. I am not sure. I don't own CMBS and can't check the credits. Not sure where CMCW got their 3D models either.
I challenge the 2023/2024 validity of this go to "excuse" that has "back a$$warded" the entire approach to giving us the earlier parts of the war in CM.
I aint far behind you. Hang in there. Best wishes to you in Bakersfield!
Well, thank you for that.

As far as the Pershing goes that is my favorite vehicle for years. It was in the CMBO back in the day along with the super Pershing as well. Which as far as I can remember never saw combat. BAOR would be very cool for sure.

Well, I must say that I would like to hear some news about what is going on. It does seem like it's been a while since anything has been posted by the powers that be. I am retired and have been for the last 13 years or so and as a result I figure that I have about ten to fifteen years left on the planet (God willing). So, I would like to hear something before the big adios.

Sounds like you have that backwards my friend. Tanks have not had as much effect on the battlefield as many expected mostly due to the simple and plentiful man portable AT systems. That has effected both sides - this is why we didn't see tanks roll into Kyiv and why we don't see tanks rolling over the RA defensive lines now. The tanks being blasted from C4ISR is a contributing reason but not the major factor. On that front it's the AFU that has the upper hand. They have excellent C4ISR and precision munitions are are very capable of using it. The RA has much weaker ISR and much less capable precision munitions.
The balance of C4ISR and raining precision strikes on the enemy is heavily, heavily in the AFU's favour.
Ukraine is far from doomed.
I wish you were right, but you're not IMHP. Ukraine is the most corrupt countries on the planet. Doesn't not bother anyone that the scum in DC refuse to give an accounting of all the monies billions given to Ukraine. Botton line is this war needs to stop, now. Before the west gets dragged into WW3 tanks and munitions be damned. I know this is off topic and I am not a Putin *** kisser, this way too many people have died for nothing.
-
The quality of the tank is one thing, the other thing now and has been Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) space based, drone based. In real time anything on the battlefield can be seen and instantly targeted and blasted off the map. That's what Russian has been doing and will continue to do. Ukraine is doomed. I don't care how many Abrams are sent when they get anywhere near Russian forces they will be turned into so much scrap.

Oh okay, got it.

Engine 5 does anyone know what that is?

While I would absolutely love to have it, I suspect it is way too controversial to even be an option.
Sagger vs and M-48, M-60 IDF took a beating at first then figured it out. Still would be cool to play around with. As I have said before Centurian Vs T-62 on the Golan, Valley of Tears, IDF out numbered and on the edge of loosing it all. Certainty not fictional. Again, would be cool to play around with for sure.

I'm all in on early war. France 1940 and Finland 1939. All those goofy Russian tanks and those funky Russian caps. Winter War would be cool.

I don't know Steve if the update was a good thing or a bad one. Looks like people are a bit on the twisted side. I was somewhat let down by some of the information, but you did say it was an overview, I was looking forward to more specifics. Having said that, I will wait and see what takes place. For me CMFB is what I am waiting for. Good luck, I a nice nap will go a long way.

Please forgive me in advance for my extreme lack of knowledge on what to me seems to be and inordinate amount of time crank out these CM games. Steve mentioned 10 years ago that it took to complete CMBN, Yeah, that's right. I retired 13 years ago, and I was playing it before then. The business model involved in the development and all the computer work required and all the research that goes into these titles to me seems somewhat staggering. I was in Law Enforcement for almost thirty years, and I spent a lot of time investigating traffic accidents and other criminal activity. While I am in no way making a comparison to my prior work than what the Battlefront folks are doing is to say this. The dedication and hard work that is put into these "games" that we all love so much, certainly for me and I'm sure for everyone else out there in "Battlefront" land is greatly appreciated. Whatever Steve and his coworkers decide to work on is fine with me. I own every title put out. I will conclude my remarks with this. I am 63 years old, and I hope to the Lord above I am around to see and "play" the next full installment of whatever it might be.
