  1. Well, since you asked :). The Germans used King Tigers to support their counterattacks that day and wherever they attacked, the Brits were unable to hold them. However, that wouldn't make for a fun scenario* so I added a couple of tank destroyers to the Brit OB that weren't there on the day so that you do have the tools to do the job. They can take the KTs down if you can get the tank destroyers into good positions. ;)

    * This is the reason why the other bonus mission, 'Brew Up', never made it into the campaign. The Churchills couldn't take out the three JgPanthers. It was historical but it most definitely was NOT fun. I will include a <cough> less-historical version of 'Brew Up' in the revised campaign though

This was a great campaign though i played it before the upgrade, and the mgs were tough then. The brens are key in a lot of the infantry firefights and stay mobile because of the arty.

Just a request PT,if this campaign is eventually revised could we have more time added to a few of the scenarios. The feeling i got was that i was being forced to push my troops through a meat grinder due to time restaints. Now i think this was the original intention so as to give a feeling of what the original battles felt like. From a gameplay situation it can be a bit frustating.

All some scenarios need is say an extra ten minutes,it'll still keep everything tight but a tad more relaxing into the bargain. All good stuff though and looking forward to OMG.

  2. It *should* still work. CMFI is using v2 technology so the campaign should work fine. Where are you installing the file?

I put the file in Campaigns with the others.Like i say i've even tried renaming to replace the original version and no dice.Mind you seems others have no problems with the file,so somethings not right my end.My CMFI is standard 1.01.

Mind you never gave the upgrade in CMBN a proper run through and am having a ball with it.Well worth the ten bucks.Just wanted a run through with CMFI to warm me up for getting GL sometime next week.

Could anyone send me the file in a PM,i have a feeling i'm not downloading the full content from the Zip file for some reason possibly.Cheers.

  3. Affirmative.Unless the zipped file in the repository is maybe corrupted in some way.For the record i'm trying to run it on the base CMFI patched to 1.01 but thanks for looking into it.I'll try it a few more times.

Quick question while i'm here. Are the German mgs ROF in GL now the same as the CMBN upgrade.A week or two before i can purchase GL,hopefully they are.

  4. I just registered to say that I'm really disappointed in hearing about this policy. I bought Combat Mission: Battle For Normandy and was planning on buying more of Battlefront's games and modules at some later date, but not if I have to pay another $5 for the game if my backups fail, for whatever reason.

Ha ha ha ha ha love it.

  5. Well I'm glad to see that you are okay with such a disgusting practice. Its a good thing you have no integrity or this would have offended you. Also dont look out the window the world is a scary place.

No,don't you look out of your window, you might find me staring back at you.Now don't you think this trolling from you pair has gone far enough.

  6. As the title says basically.I remember reading some comments on these before about supply issues and such like.Just wondering if anyone has played through them both and their opinions before i do the same.

As has been stated before, shame this title didn't receive a bit more support from

everyone in the modding community though there are most have mods in the Rep at the moment.More scenarios and the like i mean.

Wasted chances with this title unfortunately because the fighting can be intense rather than all the long range stuff you get with Shockforce.Could have been a real gem like Shockforce and modules ended up being.

So anyway Campaigns worth playing or are they a tad broken.

  7. Actually "Denied" has nothing much to do with C2 chain. "Denied" means that the entity you have selected will never be able to call fire from that artillery asset.

There are two reasons I can think of for a unit being Denied access to an asset:

First, they're just not allowed to call that unit. This could be because they're a plain old unit that has no arty call privileges in the first place, or because the asset in question "requires Forward Observer", even if it might have the permissions to use other assets.

Second, the individual in the unit which generally bears the privilege of calling arty is hors de combat. FOs and HQs generally invest their ability to call arty in the "Leader" or "Commander" specialist in that unit, and if they are a casualty, the unit will no longer be able to call arty.

I would suspect that the second reason is the case here, because I don't think people are likely to expect units that can't call arty to be able to call arty, and because I think most mortars are pretty promiscuous and will let any old Tom, Dick or Herman call fire from them. Though I could be mistaken in both assumptions.

I'm assuming the OP is talking about mortars he himself has deployed. Most HQs can call these in if in range. For the off-map stuff, the big stuff, yup usually only a FO and sometimes a high ranking CO can call these in.For the small on map mortars, you can still get "Denied" if not in range of HQs.

Casualties or loss of a radio(and it happens) or LOS issues by HQs and FOs are also another factor. Now that is bloody annoying.Perfect LOS and you can't call anything in.Denied, even though you have radios, binocs,in range mortars, all C2 present etc.Now that is a strange one at times.

  8. This all to do with C2 bud,or the chain of command. The mortars have to be in vocal range or radio range of the Forward Observer or HQ unit that is calling the arty fire in.With onboard mortars i usually keep them close to an HQ or FO,you'll find that works.

The C2 is in the bottom left of the screen. It basically tells what unit is in touch with who.If everything is in green, everyone is in touch. If one is on red. He's out of touch, meaning he can either not be seen or maybe heard by one or all of his upper command units/HQs.

  9. Vin,

Looks a nice mod,i loaded up the CMBN version.I really like the Red and Blue idea myself but one problem no CW icons for the Allies, they stay standard apart from HQs.Any chance of of a version with those added for CMBN or is there a way to

simply rename one of the folders to allow CW allies.Great mod though and look forward to using it once the v2.0 upgraded engine is patched.
