  1. Sorry but the standard textures are pretty dull, boring...some would call this...bad. I do !

    The distant ground is extrem bad, the UI is boring and old fashioned.

    It's kind of amusing how some here have a explanation for everything BFC does, they might also will have a explanation if BFC adds no new snow features and graphic effects...

     

    You forgot to add ...In my opinion....I don't agree at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think the standard textures are quite good. Maybe because I don't play FPS'ers, but I am amazed at how good the tanks and other vehicles look,and I think terrain is more than adequate. If I have any beef at all, it's that everything looks a bit too "clean".

    given what we have in the actual CMBS (nothing new will come for quite a while), do you have any idea of a potential total conversion of the game?

     

    Examples:

    -home war (US army defending the country against a russian invasion - possibly the state of Washington? With the ukrainian army modded to represent local militia, at least the infantry).

    -back to desert (US army fighting OPFOR of some sort, with the ukrainian army modded to represent a local ally)

     

    Hmmmm....Red Dawn?  Sounds intriguing. I wonder if the terrain and buildings could be modded to look like the USA?

  3. I have no idea, they never pre announce dates for patches.  Why hold back on having fun especially when the vast majority of the time you can continue your games with the patched version?

     

    That's true. I just thought with the demo being released with version 1.02, that the patch might be coming shortly.

  4. has there been anything revealed about 1.02, other than the side armor issues?

     

    Not that I know of.

     

    I saw a thread in the mods forum where George MC released a version of the demo scenario that uses the 1.02 patch. That's why I asked. I assumed it would be coming out soon.

We had planned on showing you a couple of shots of what we've been working on alongside of CM Black Sea.  Some last minute glitches made that not really possible with the amount of time we had left.  So you're going to have to deal with a slightly-better-than-coal-in-your-stocking bone for this year.

     

     

     

    Any chance we could get a peek at these shots you were talking about before Christmas now? An early Spring bone? :)

  6. The CMBS module, whenever it arrives, will chronologically happen concurrently with the base game.

     

    If winter and snow were to be added to Black Sea, it would likely be in the form of some sort of non-canon, mod-like optional content, not an extension of the story.

    A snow module! I'd buy it....just winterize the terrain and vehicles already in the game. Maybe add a few scenarios.

  7. If I remember correctly, when BFC first started developing the CMx2 engine for Shock Force, they stated that it was designed for company size engagements. I know they have optimized the engine since then to allow for larger maps and forces but some of the scenario designers are really pushing the limits with highly detailed maps and battalion size forces.

     

    Sometimes you just have to drop some of detail settings or turn shadows and shaders off to get high frame rates on the very large scenarios.
