  1. Hi there,

I use the CMSF Paradox version, and want to buy the 3Bundle Marines, British and Nato-forces. I know there are some differences between the games if you want to patch them. Are there any problems if I buy the 3Bundle with my Paradox version?

And another question, as I can see there is no CD oder DVD for this addons, it seems to be download only. What happened if there something goes wrong with the download, or if I have to reinstall my windows? Will the addon be lost in this case?

Anyway, how can I pay the game? Can I use Paypal? Normaly I buy games in a shop, via ebay or amazon. But in this case it is not possible, because it seems there are no CD oder DVD. Download only. I can understand it, to produce and distribute them can be expensive and CM seems to have a small audience. So, how can I buy this games anyway and be sure anything is correct?

I also want to buy CM:Normandy, but I am afrait of the same problems.

  2. Hi there, at the moment my CMSF don´t want to run, but I am curious how the Hotseat mode works. First I thought "hey thats a brillant idea" but after a while there are some doubts.

so the Hotseat mode based on the WeGo system. Where you can give orders to your units while the game paused. Than you press your "OK" and the game moved for one minute, till the planing phase paused the game again.

Easy in single player, but how it goes in multiplayer on the Hotseat mode?

    For example idea one:

Blue makes his planing phase, and than his one minute moving phase.

Than its the turn of Red. And red makes his planing phase and his moving phase.

advantage: Both sides cant see the elements of the other side, because both have there own moving phase and this is very well structured.

disadvantage: It takes two minutes of the real time phase untin Blue can respond again. Because of the own Red moving phase.

Also: There is a new situation, because Red had a moving phase during the time while Blue can not see everything.

So, that sounds not like a good idea. There must be an other technique.

    For example idea two:

Blue makes his planing phase. He confirms and now its the turn of the Red force. Red makes his planing phase and confirms.

Now there is the one minute moving phase for both sides. Both sides can see there units at the same time.

advantage: No chaos in the timeline, the turns are well structured.

disadvantage: The users will know everything about the other players units. surprises are nearly impossible. Exspecialle for the Reds a big disadvantage.

    For example idea three:

Blue makes his planing phase. He confirms and now its the turn of the Reds.

Red makes his planing phase and confirms also.

Now there is the one minute moving phase for the Blue force. Blue can see the battlefield though the angle of his units. If Blue have seen enought he confirms.

Now red can see the same minute, the same Situation through a different perpektive, through the angle of the red units.

advantage: No chaos in the timeline, both players see only what they had to see.

disadvantage: It is not so comfortable for both players, because there had to change the chair at twice times for only one round.

So, thats my ideas. But how is it in the reality? Hot did CMSF solved this problem?

  3. Hi Schrullenhaft, firstly, I wish you a happy new year. :)

I have download and installed a file called "NetFx20SP2_x86.exe" I think that could be a ".NET 2.0" file?

    I use Avira AntiVir 9.0.0.429 Personel (free-version)

The 'Test Direct3D' on DirectX works very well.

But nothing changed, neither the test-programs nor the game want to start.

Maybe I try to reinstall my windows... some people in an Radeon ATI Forum suspect the error in the OS. And I think this can be true. But, if I reinstall, I simultaneous update my hardware components, with a new HDD. I think it would be senseless, if we still try to fix the problem at the moment. So I will come back in a few month. Having a new fresh system. During the time I can read the manual again and again and again...

...by the way, thank you for the effort and the really great service. :)

It seems to be not a CMSF error. See you later.

  4. Okay, now I deleted all ATI files with Driver Sweeper 2.8.0 on my system, than I had reinstall the catalyst 9.3.1 driver, and in the end I updatet my windows XP(32) with the Servicepack2. No success.

The atioglxx.dll with 11.568kb is found in Windows/system32 and also in Windows/system32/ReinstallBackups/0003/DriverFiles

lower versions of the file, with less kb are also found in the folders 0000/DriverFiles till 0002/DriverFiles

Nothing changed with the OpenGL test-programs.

OpenGL Extensions Viewer 3.0 still shout his dialog box:

System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protectet memory. This is often an idication that other memory is corrupt.

    at openglex.Win32.oevClientInitialize()

    at openglex.oevDetect.backgroundWorker1_DoWork(Object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e)

and FulMark v1.6.5 says nothing, don't want to start just as much as the Game. Strange... really... :(

I am already contacted the AMD costumer Support. They say the game is not our problem, please try the newest driver for the best OpenGL solutions. But does it work together with CMSF?

  5. Hy over there, I had buy Combat Mission: Shock Force (Paradox vers.) on Amazon during the christmas days. I had patched it up to 1.10 paradox and than 1.20 paradox.

The game runs, but I had a lot of false colors in the game (bright green, red orange, white and yellow in the 3D view). I thought it must be a problem with my video-card, reinstall all software corresponding to the card and installed the new driver (ATI Catalyst 9.3.1). But now the game don´t want to start anymore.

If I try it, the CD starts to rotate, the computer makes his work, the combat mission shock force button appears in the task bar, and after a second it disapers already and the computer is quiet again. No dialog box, nothing.

    My system is:

Operating System: MS Windows XP HE

Video Card: ATI Radion 9800XT with 256MB

    CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3000+

    RAM: 2GB DDR SDRAM

    DirectX: 9.0c

    Anti-virus software: Avira AntiVir 9.0.0.429

    can someone help me?
