  1. Hi, I'm trying to understand U.S. entry (and USSR for that matter). I know that of course if attacked or fully mobilized they enter. But I came across a historical war entry event in the event files that seems to imply that the u.s. will join 12/11/41 no matter what. is that true? Or in principle can it be dragged out as long as the u.s. is not mobilized? Howzabout the USSR? DOes it have a forced historical date of entry? Thanks! Luke
  2. Thank you. The part I wasn't getting was the last bit about DECISION 107
  3. Hi, I'm trying to understand mobilization events in the scripts. For example DE 107: Iraq Coup. As far as I can tell this simply seems to have a 25% (or does trigger 75 mean 75%) chance of triggering as long as Germany is axis. Is that right? Not tied to things like success in Middle East or Anything else? Here is the event: (though there are two copies. One with link 107[1] and one with 107[0]. Don't understand that either :-) ): #NAME= DE 107 - Pro-Axis Coup in Iraq (Iraq->Axis) #POPUP= Pro-Axis Coup in Iraq #IMAGE= #SOUND= coup.wav #FLAG= 1 #TYPE= 1 #AI= 0 #GV= 1[1,100] #LINK= 107[1] #LEVEL= 0 #COUNTRY_ID= 32 #TRIGGER= 75 #DATE= 1939/09/03 ; 200% mobilization increase towards Axis #MOBILIZATION= [200,200] [1] ; Set variable conditions: ; 1st Line - Germany politically aligned with Axis and not surrendered #VARIABLE_CONDITION= 6 [1] [100] [0]
  4. Hearts of Iron Iiii does the density thing with "frontage" based on terrain. So it can be done.
  5. Yeah I wondered if that could have happened but didn't see a popup and hadn't thought my MMPs changed. But maybe you are right. Oi.
  6. I was moving a german ftr in france... decided instead to operate it.. it VANISHED when I picked operate! No idea what happened maybe I clicked illegal spot. But this is very important loss and cripples my tournament game. I can send the save game though that in itself will force me to not do my turn right. I guess couple conclusions: 1) save and send to Hubert if you agree -- and at least we can see about this apparent bug. 2) I guess I restart turn can't see what else to do.
  7. Are there restriction on how allies draw supply from each other? For example could Chinese unit draw supply from uk or soviet cities? Soviet from British controlled cities? Etc? Thanks for any insights, Luke
  8. In one 1.0.1 game my maximum is 1000 for USSR. In another 750. What setting effects this please? All games are 1.0.1
  9. When a unit is selected I would like a keystroke to put it in Forced March mode. Then I can select a hex further away. On a large monitor I spend a lot of time (relatively speaking :-) ) moving mouse to force march after I select a unit and then back to pick it's destination. Seems like we have lots of keys free and really would be efficient. This would be my most requested keystroke right now. Hope that clarifies. Thanks for replying.
  10. Searching the manual and the expansion manual I am not spotting a hotkey for forced march. Could you please add this in future or if it exists tell me what it is. Thank you, Luke
  11. Thanks for your reply. I did not realize it would cost multiple turns. And I was starting to get very fond of forced marches :-) :-(
  12. How long does morale loss do to force march last please? Through enemy turn only or longer?
  13. If multiple countries invest in diplomacy on a minor what determines which investor will receive the country? Thanks, Luke
  14. 1) HQ in Bordeaux -an HQ should not normally inflict pain on you. Key thing is to look at your morale and supply levels of your units. It may be that with Paris recently captured and reduced that your supply is very low. Hit the key "s" . THis will show you supply levels on the map. Then review the supply rules to see how get yourself enough supply by putting an HQ of your own close enough to a supply source to then provide supply to your units near Bordeau. You should not be having this trouble. BTW events like vichy are in the back of the manual. YOu will need to take algiers now to force french surrender. Vichy is normally the easier choice. My other guess is that the hq gamelin has won enough battles that it has gained enough experience to actually have some combat strength. Hence it hurts you now. Check how many stars it has. 2)The chinese are tough. Are you on patch 1.01 Gold? The original Gold has them too hard. The key to killing chinese is focus. Get a bunch of units near the target. Hit it with morale reducing attacks (look up in manual). Then rotate units in to attack (using shift key movement if need be). IT will often take 4 to 7 different units attacking. Note that attacks originating in tough terrain versus tough terrain are especially tough. China is full of that. Easier attacks are typically to south and north in china. You will need to gain some real experience of play before you can take the chinese on well. 3)Artillery was mostly removed for the scale of this global game. It was present in the earlier european theater versions of this game. To soften up enemies review the manual on what units remove entrenchments and reduce morale. Their is an art to destroying entrenched units. Persevere. The game is winnable as the axis but it takes experience and skill :-) Read the combat and supply sections of the manual carefully. Good luck
  15. Hi Catacol, Sorry about that. I have sent you my gmail one which should work. Try that too. Please let me know if you do not receive. Also sent you first axis turn.
  16. I did not receive an email. Please send to private here as well as try lhughes41 at comcast dot net
  17. o that might be true. but I believe you can attack with one army and then swap it out and attack with other? In your case you swap and then attack with both. which is different.
  18. I think I've been able to swap and fight in 1.01
  19. Good luck everyone. Just emailed organizers as requested.
  20. That's why I kept unexpectedly moving! Just happened to me in a PBEM game too!
  21. Am I right in noticing that spotting range of bombers has been reduced? Therefore this counterbalances recon missions? I.e. you spot less in general... compensated for by doing recon? If so that is clever and a nice balance :-)
  22. Ah very nice. I have much to learn being a grasshopper :-)
