  1. Who's the guy in the photo? I really like this window-decorations with stamps, coins, medals... and photos! Opening the "diplomacy" window two photographs can be seen. The middle picture: Who is the guy with the glasses and the mustache sitting at the table to Hitler's right side? I wonder if I have seen this guy on a photo before, think it's Edmond Rothschild, but I may be wrong. Do you guys know who the guy is? Hubert please, what's that kind of picture and who is the guy on the photo?
  2. What about enhancing the "Long Range Aircraft" to a maximum upgrade of 3?! A max of 2 is insufficient, I think! What do you guys and the beta testers say?
  3. Order of Battle, ok, thanks!
  4. In the SC2 Blitzkrieg series the periods vary depending on the season. In SC WWII PT & GC the seasons are all the same length.
  5. You want to know how I as the high command organize my army groups and naval forces? Is that right? Depends on the situation and the side I play, Axis or Allies. I'm flexible! What does "OOB" mean? I don't understand cause english isn't my mother tongue (native language).
  6. @ weasel23 Just throw in everything you have! 3 inf, 1 panzers and 1 artillery is nothing! caverrt is right when he says: And don't forget the fighters, tactical bombers and strategic bombers! You can operate them after you captured some tiles, they are greyed then.
  7. @ scottsmm Panthers - wow what kind of GC did you purchased? I have never seen one in the SC series! Level 0 = Panzer I Level 1 = Panzer II "Luchs" Level 2 = Panzer III Level 3 = Panzer IV Level 4 = Panzer VI "Tiger" Level 5 = Panzer VI Mk 2 "Königstiger" (= KingTiger) As you see there is no Panzer V "Panther" Playing lots of games during the SC series I always had the impression that the German tank research is the fastest of all nations even faster than the Soviets' research. I introduced Panzer VI Mk 2 KingTiger in early 1943 - this is the hell an awesome destruction machine! Nowadays two times hitting it's just ---> (And not like yolo911 said: "Panzers are like bicycles" ---> lol) And I didn't even needed to invest lots of chits. I always start with "Intelligence" and "Industrial Tech" and others, tanks have to wait. The British (AI) introduced destroyers with anti-sub-warfare level 3 in early 1940 - wow, a little lotto-win to the AI, from that time on my subs needed cruiser and battleship support!
  8. Thanks again, Hubert! But I still hope you can fix it! I believe you will make it! It's like yolo911 said: "I've never had a programmer or any one at a publishing company take a personal interest in my ability to enjoy a game. You have a lot of class." What would the SC community be without you and the beta-testers! Good to have all you guys here! :)
  9. @ yolo911 And what do you think who is one of the bad guys that are not allowed to use the mod? lol
  10. @ acrashb When I think of wikipedia and esoterism I'm getting nuts! It's quite nutty, you're right. Wikipedia isn't much good about esoterism-terms. Quotation: "The myth of "Agartha" is also known as "Shambhala"" ---> what kind of bullsh** is this?! These are two different things! Quotation: "...the idea of Shambhala is said to have an "outer," "inner," and "secret" meaning." ---> Yes, different meanings exist! Quotation: "The inner and secret meanings refer to more subtle understandings of what Shambhala represents..." ---> This comes near to what I meant. But not only Shamballah, Agartha either! But wikipedia does not explain! Holding back information, as it's always is! The german wikipedia is a little different and does make no mention of the term "Shamballah". No backgroung info either.
  11. @ SeaMonkey, I don't meant you with the "misconstruction of evil", I just meant it in general, sorry the misunderstanding. WW2 was not a historical accident, many contracts made after WW1 have been broken or just ignored, by both sides the Allies and the 3rd Reich. And think of the financial side of a war. How could Hitler have build a large army in such a short period of time?! It cost the hell a lot of money, and who lend the money? BANKS!!! The 3rd Reich was highly indepted! And not how the "official" history books say, that the Germans accumulated the capital with their manpower and workforce, respectively. That's not true or call it a lie, because that would never have been possible within a few years. Last year a brand-new documentation was released in Germany. It explains the breaking and ignoring of the contracts and how the nations embroiled theirselves more and more to war. The docu is called: "Hitlers Krieg? Was Guido Knopp verschweigt" It's downloadable at "dokujunkies.org" (rapidshare download = one-click-hoster). I don't know if this documentation is available in english language too anywhere in the www, that would be nice. The "official" history keeps many information a secret, nice to have a docu that "lifts the secrets out of the dark into the light". The winner, the victor writes history!!! That's how it is! For some years now the establishment takes root (establishes) a new term or concept that is called "political correctness". Anyone ever thought about that?! And I always thought politicians are and politics is correct, what conditions need to emphasize this "political correctness" on and on in the media? It's the internet, I think! More and more people refer information out of the www (blogs, communities...) and the time of holding information back comes to an end now, I guess. Think of the anglo-american-archives that lock up many facts for 50 years or more. Many of these archives are open now but you hear nothing about that in the media. What kind of so called "democracy" is this we're living in when lots of infos are locked?! How shall democracies work when the peoples are badly informed?! I agree when you point out that it's all about faith or the definition of how it's perceived. Nowadays three perspectives exist in my mind. The first is the normal tv (it's a monster, I can tell you!), newspaper and magazine perspective, the most people view, no background information. The second came with reading good researched books about secret societies, brotherhoods and intelligence services and the information they restrain. That made me seeing lots of circumstances from another "angle of view", that "normal" people do not understand. And the last view is the one that came with esoterism. I asked myself more and more questions but I was unable to answer these. Esoterism answered many questions and gave me a more "relatively" perspective, some kind of "all things are relative", it depends on the angle of view. Depending on the people surrounding me, I switch through these angles. I have had lots of interesting conversations the last years. And I can tell you, more and more people wake up and don't trust tv anymore!
  12. to Hubert Cater: Can you remember the artillery-sound-bug I posted at March, 11 in the "Thoroughly upset no artillery units! They are the lynchpin of attacks or defense!"-thread? I did how you said. The artillery sounds right now , but the Katyusha sounds like artillery-cannons now, not like a Katyusha . Could you please fix this sound-bug with the next patch? Would be great for gamers that enable the "Soft Build Limits". (PS: I always enable this because on the one hand it would be impossible to garrison many of the occupied cities, and on the other hand it makes no sense to me that I make lots of MPPs later in the game, being unable then to invest in new units because the limits are already reached. A big fat war-empire is always able to build new units, that's my opinion.)
  13. Nice dabate! Nice idea, Snowstorm, opening this thread! @ SeaMonkey The Soviet government never controlled the banks! The Communist Manifesto says that private banking is still desirable. I never read it, but heard about that. The big banks are multinational cooperations led by a few families. How can a government of a nation control a multinational cooperation? That's impossible and also desirable! They established branches in nearly every country of the world (except North Korea and Iran). The branches often have different names, but belong to the same families. That's why they are able to control international capital streams. They lend the nations money in return for interest and urge the nations into the debt trap. Think of your country please (and all other readers either) of how excessive the government debt is. That's no coincidence! That's how capitalism works, gaining influence by excessive government debts. This works for thousands of years since the invention of money. The Soviet Union (and I don't mean Russia!!!) was nothing but a 20th century construction of incredible rich people that you will never find on a "Forbes-list" 'cause they are atop of it. Back to the thread, The Soviets and Nazi-Germany never would have built an alliance. This has to do with Shamballah contra Agartha (Agarthi) - ever heard about that? No, I knew it! With the Soviet Union and the Allies on Agartha's side and the Third Reich (and his minors) on Shamballah's side a cooperation could never ever have happened. Mankind will never be delivered from pain (war, starvation, misery, debt trap...) until the two become one again. --- --- --- Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent son. Shine down upon the broken. Shine until the two become one. Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent son. Shine on upon the severed. Shine until the two become one. Divided I'm withering away. Divide and I'm withering away. Shine on upon the many, light our way Benevolent son. -- Tool, "Jambi" --- --- --- "Alliance of Evil" --> who is evil and who is not? Who is the one to decide that? I would never speak of any "evil", it's all just misconception, misconstruction. This is what I learned by studying secret societies and esoterism. Studying this subjects is a lifetime progress and I will continue 'til the end of my life...
  14. In SC WWII PT there is a script in the "Surrender # 1" category called: "Die-Hards Refuse To Surrender And Continue The War From Seoul". I did not found that script in GC, have I overlooked something (so many scripts!) ? Hubert, couldn't you integrate this script in the following GC patch 1.01?
  15. How can you post such detailed pictures? I downloaded it, it's 154kb! When I use "attachments" it's limited to 19.5kB and a max pixel resolution of 620x280 ---> that's nearly nothing! (Admin, could you please help lowering this hard restrictions? 200kB @ 1280x1024 would be nice!) kowalewski - I need to say chemical weapons were "trend-setting", unfortunately. To the end of WW1 every third artillery grenade shot off was a gas or combined gas-explosive grenade! Of course they are brutal, think of flamethrower, bombing civilians, raping women, the new psycho-weapons the US just introduced... War was, is and always will be brutal! That's why we play it on computers and will not do it in reality, right?! I will never join an army, and that's why I made civilian (alternative) service when I was a young guy. I watched many many war-documentions... we all should learn about that, but many will not, and that's why war continues on and on  Another idea is to use new army- and corps-graphic-sprites, I think of the german spiked helmet (Pickelhaube) they used to wear at that time. The steel helmet was introduced in 1916.
  16. In what kind of dimension do you live, Nup?! Your card is freakin' awesome... wonderful... amazing...! How many years does it take to make a mod like this?! And how many years will it take to play a mod like this?! Sorry, but I don't have the fu**ing time time! I really like the details, and the continents scale exactly to each other, that's astonishing me! Do you know why Greenland is called Greenland? -> The coasts to the south are green! I don't like this "everything is just white" in the deep north and deep south of mother earth. If it would be possible to build some kind of arctic research stations or military bases the arctic and antarctic regions could be useful either. Seems to me that the SC engine does not support cpu-multi-core, does it? (Hubert, what do you say?) The scrolling is quite slow, doesn't matter if hardware acceleration is enabled or not, makes no difference. My cpu cores are not used to the full capacity. Or maybe the RAM is too slow to load the processor cores! The graphics card is definetly fast enough (with 216 stream processors, 1.8 GB VRAM with 448 bits interface) and not so important for a 2D game like the SC series. Think it's the RAM! We need new technology for a card like your's, maybe light(speed)-computing could cope with it. It's playable indeed, but it's just too big. You would need teams to manage Axis or Allied. Such a huge card, think I would loose control after a while. I will play this card when I live in another dimension, like you (), where the day has 100 hours with a need to sleep of just 2 hours. KvP says: "Done very well, A++!" PS.: It's version 0.9, right, what will follow 'til it's 1.0?
  17. Now that I'm in the year 1944 with the Axis and gained some experience with the new game, I have to note some things. I play 0%, no fog of war, soft build limits on (to have the artillery back and the possibility to build lots of corpses to garrison the occupied cities). (What's the plural of corps? - I don't mean dead bodies!) - The partisan activity is a little bit too hard in China, I think. The region Peking, Chengchow, Sian and fortress Yenan is regularly lowered by partisan activities, though they are all garrisoned with corpses. The effect is that all cities and harbors in east and south east asia get lowered to a value of 5. (Similar to SC WWII Pacific Theater.) What can I do against this permanent partisan activities? And I mean not to switch off the partisans in the scripts. Does it make sense that cities and harbors in Indochina, Thailand and Malaya get hit by partisan activities in north-east China? - The British seem to be more interested of north Africa than in their own home country. They attacked and destroyed the italian forces in Africa very early in the game. Too early I think. There was no chance to back up the Italians in 1941 by building a "Rommel-group", it was still too late. I invaded the UK in spring 1942 ("Operation Sea Lion") and they defended quite well. But the British did not relocated a single force from Africa (and they have lots there) to the UK homeland, just as if they were not interested in supporting their homeland defences. That's strange, isn't it? - The movement in the new SC game is sometimes a little mysterious to me. On the one hand the British-India are able to move a tank from Lahore directly through the Himalaya to the chinese city called Kashgar by moving one tile each turn. I was astonished, how did they have done this? There are no streets! Did they used very strong, fullblooded mules (no one has ever seen before) to transport the tanks on their shoulders? Or did they found Shamballah in the Himalaya region, and with the use of Shamballah esoteric energy they just beamed the tank group with the power of thoughts, right? On the other hand it was impossible for me to move the japanese HQ Suzuki (rating 8!) into the anglo-indian city Darjeeling during a period of rain, though the HQ stood directly adjacent in the south-west of the city, the city was already captured and the supply was well. If I could I would have kicked Suzuki's fat ass  because of his non-willing to move just because of monsoon rains. This sort of rain might be powerful but I think he could have moved if he just wanted to. Compared to the "Himalaya-tank-story" some movement parameters could be modified, I think. All in all I'm very pleased with the introduction of Global Conflict @ version 1.00. WELL DONE!
  18. Hi yolo911! Please don't give up. There are lots of possibilities in the Strategic Command series games. Check out the advanced rules, the settings and the scripts, but please don't make it too easy! Be aware of the partisans! (Did you ever checked the "P"-button on your keyboard?) Don't cease playing, start a new game and lots of new ideas will come to your mind. I play videogames since I was a little boy and then the computers came... I played lots of games but I never played a game before that is so highly addictive like the Strategic Command series. Or does a youngster like me has to show you how it works?!
  19. Sorry, but I can't understand or reproduce your problem. When you open "maps" -> "war map" you will see two little flags underneath the world map to the left (at the bottom of the window to the left). One is for Germany and one for Japan. Every major country is able to declare war individually now. For example: Germany can be at war with the SU while Japan is not, or Japan can be at war with the US while Germany is not. You need to click the little Japan-flag first, then you click on the flag of the Soviet Union on the war map to declare war on them. Have you overlooked (ignored) the two little flags underneath the war map to the left?
  20. Very, very nice! I dream of a SC WW1 for years! But tanks in 1914 - that really makes no sense! What about gas warfare, when the wind is right?! In 1916 the Germans introduced the new "Sturmbataillione" - Special Forces, would be nice to have them too! Very large artillery would be nice, like the german railway guns! @ CSS: As far as I know Germany just built 20 A7V tanks! - That's nearly nothing, but they fought well against the British Mk-tanks.
  21. You're right David! France and Italy should become their own major countries again!
  22. Naval warfare: Holding the Ctrl-button while left clicking makes it possible to create some kind of way points the vessel will follow. This can be helpful during fog of war to ship around instead of shipping inside.
  23. This is my proposal of how I did the "Operation Sea Lion". The pictures you see are taken from the Patton Drives East expansion of Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg (just left-click on them). I did not tried this 'project' within the SC WWII Global Conflict yet, but I will try later and hope it will work similar. When I started playing PDE expansion my prior thought was: "How could I capture the UK as fast as possible?" After occupying Poland, Denmark, The Low Countries (BeNeLux), Norway and France of course, the first thing is you have to win the air war against the UK. That's why I shifted all (!) my air units to the north coastal line of France. Then I researched "long range aircraft", this is necessary to bomb the Liverpool and Glasgow ports with (strategic) bombers to break down british supplies via the convoy routes. This will reduce the UK's MPP collecting dramatically. (In Global Conflict it's just necessary to bomb the Liverpool port. The Glasgow port is not so important I think, and it is not in range for (strategic) bombers placed in north of France even with the highest possible long range upgrade - what a damn sh**!) Attacking british land, air and sea units with fighters and tactical bombers as often as possible will reduce UK's strength enormously. "Advanced aircraft"-, "anti-tank weapons"- (to upgrade the tactical bombers = Stuka) and "heavy bombers"-research will help too. I strengthened my air army with some tactical bombers and several italian air units. Don't forget the HQs! The picture below shows how it looked in spring 1942. (Sorry, but the picture quality is limited too much by the Battlefront-community-server!!! I would like to post better quality, but that's unfortunately impossible!) I planned to run "Operation Sea Lion" in summer 1941, but I needed to buy lots of infantry units to strenghthen the eastern front against the SU. So I had to postpone the invasion of the UK until spring 1942. Three paratroop units and three special forces units, all with the highest upgrades, should do the job. In summer 1942 the time had finally come! The paratroopers landed in south England to the west of London building a beachhead for the following special forces and HQs. (Tip: paratroopers starting with HQ attachment suffer less or no landing casualties!) My naval forces helped defending the amphibious transports against the british royal navy, or that which was left of them after the heavy bombardements the years before. (Tip: place the units you want for amphibious transport in ports near to the landing zone, I placed mine in Brest and Amsterdam, so they will not need to travel long distances!) The special forces and HQs landed unscathed on greyed tiles - the beachhead - in south England. The following picture shows how it looked in summer 1942. With air support from the north of France and some tactical bombers moved to the south of England it was easy to occupy first London and then Manchester in a couple of weeks. The US trying to help the British was hopeless. My naval forces dumped the US navy and lots of their troopships. With less casualties "Operation Sea Lion" was a complete success finalized in autumn 1942. The last picture shows how it looked in early autumn 1942 after marching into Manchester. After the fall of London and Manchester the british gouvernment escaped to Canada. After that I captured Ireland in a single turn by bombing out the Dublin garrison and landing a paratroop unit (with HQ attachment when starting). After the success of "Operation Sea Lion" it took a load of my mind. From that time on I controlled the north and middle Atlantic with the 'Kriegsmarine' (= so called german naval forces during 3rd Reich), and could concentrate on the eastern front and break the heavy soviet army lines with the help of my big air fleet that was completely commandeered to the eastern front. Upgraded italian units took care of Malta, north Africa and near east Asia. So I hope, eye-switcher, my post will help you. (I think you don't want to know how I captured Scandinavia, even Sweden, do you?! )
  24. Please do not Hubert! 1st: Politics is the economics whore, it's not worth it! 2nd: We need Hubert! Please go on programming the SC series!
