  1. Looking forward to this!! I was hoping for more scenarios using the Storm over Europe map, it's great!
  2. AoD is an expansion pack for SCGC, not a complete revamp. I agree though that it would be awesome to see some of the old scenarios carried over to the new map.
  3. I tried the 1940 Barbarossa against the AI once. I didn' honor the M-R pact, and then moved into the Baltic States before the Soviets annexed them so as to get an even more forward position. It was a fun game but there were several problems: - Germany doesn't have time to tech up by summer of 1940 so you're going in with little or no tech advantage over the Soviets. That means a slow sluggish advance. - You don't get the huge MPP boost from the fall of France. - You don't really save any occupation troops in the West because you have to man the Siefried line. - Without the French ports at your disposal, using your subs is even trickier than it usually is. - You'll be going in without the help of Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Sure they'll join later on, but those extra troops could sure help at first. One good thing is that there are no severe winter events scripted for 1940, meaning that you don't have to worry about supply and strength suddenly collapsing. EDIT: Oh and the french navy is also an extra problem you have to deal with in this case.
  4. Hello, Sorry I was having some computer problems last night, I just sent the file now (I hasten to add that those problems aren't behind this issue; all my other games are running fine ) I'm playing on v1.02
  5. I dug up this topic because I'm encountering the exact same problem. It's some time after pearl harbor (winter 1942) and the game just seems to freeze on the naval reorganization phase. Hubert, I sent my save file to the e-mail adress you posted above. I hope this can be worked out somehow :-/
  6. Hi, I've been playing SC for a while against the AI, but I'd like to get started with some multiplayer as well =) I'm looking for opponents as either side for the main 1939 scenario. My email: dtreller@hotmail.com
  7. Hi, I'm looking for opponents to play either side, mainly in the Barbarossa to Berlin scenario. My e-mail: dtreller@hotmail.com
  8. Hey again, I was playing a defensive "Barbarossa to Berlin" game today and I noticed that the Axis minefield between Helsinki and Talinn is already active in 1941. I don't know when it was laid historically but on the map it reads "March 1942" so I was supposing that was when it became active in the game. Anyway my ships took damage in 1941 while resting on those tiles, is that normal? Btw, sorry for putting up these remarks one at a time but I just post them as they come along or else I'll forget :-P Btw#2 this BtB scenario really rocks, I haven't had this much fun with a SC game since WaW
  9. Works fine for me. Looking forward to trying this out =) Thanks!
  10. Hello, I've been playing the "Barbarossa to Berlin" scenario as the axis quite a lot recently, and I've got a suggestion to make in regard to the scenario's difficulty. I remember having read somewhere that the AI has several attitudes that it can choose from at the beginning of the game and which will direct its play style throughout the scenario. It just feels to me like the difficulty depends much more on which stance the AI adopts, rather than on the actual difficulty setting. This makes the difficulty pretty random, and I find that annoying. My suggestion for a future release would be to implement an option before launching the scenario which would enable the player to pick which kind of attitude the AI should adopt. There could be a "random" option of course, so that players could keep the feeling of not knowing what they were going to face if they so chose. Does this sound reasonable?
  11. Sounds great! I'm looking forward to this =) Good luck!
  12. Uhmm... yeah you're right about the link, sorry I've got the 1.2 patch and the hotfix works anyway, thanks
  13. Hello, I just downloaded the 1.2 patch for AoC and I'm having the same problem with Italy getting 0 income. The link Hubert posted is dead (Fatal error - attempt to access unpublished file by non-admin user). Am I supposed to download this: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=2817 I would like to add that all this is a bit confusing, between the patches and hotfixes...
  14. Hmm, but strat bombers have a 0 tank attack value so it still seems weird for them to deal that much damage to my unit. I'm pretty sure there was no popup (although to be honest I'm not 100%). Also, the soviets were still far from Warsaw when this happened. The front was around Lviv and Baranavichy Unfortunately I just screwed up my save but saving another game over it so I can't post any screenshots >< Anyway, thanks for the reply
  15. Hello, I have a question regarding a game I'm currently playing against the AI. I'm playing the Axis in the "1944 - Bagration" scenario. At some point early in the game I received an extra level 4 tank group which I deployed in Warsaw. It sat there for a few turns, when suddenly I realized that it was somehow taking serious damage! I mean, one turn it was down to 5 strength and the next down to 1, I barely got it out of there. To my knowledge, the is no way Soviet bombers could have reached so far behind behind my lines, let alone know the tank group was there. Is there some sort of Warsaw uprising event that causes German troops stationed there to take damage? I didn't get any popup message so it seemed weird... Another unrelated remark (this one concerns AoD): The port in north Vietnam should probably be called Haiphong instead of Hanoi. Hanoi doesn't have a port (it's not on the coast), and Haiphong is the main port in northern Vietnam and has been so for a while. I wasn't sure that remark waranted an entire topic so I wrote it here Cheers!
  16. Hello, I was trying to play as the Soviets in the new "1941 - Barbarossa to Berlin" scenario, but the Axis AI was doing some weird things. Three times in a row, it retreated on the first turn instead of attacking. I then tried the normal Barbarossa scenario and it worked fine.
  17. I remember having found a crazy way to trick the AI in the original Blitzkrieg game, starting in Fall Weserubung: 1) Play as the Axis. Use your ground troops as usual, this only concerns naval units for now. You start with 3 corps in amphibious transports, and your fleet facing the British fleet. The first (and most random) part is to make your transports get safely past the British Isles and into the Atlantic. To do this either shelter them against the coast and huddle your ships around them, or whatever...can't remember how I did it but you need at least 2 to survive. 2) Send one near Ottawa, keep the other off the US coast near Washington DC. 3) Declare war on the USA. Land near Ottawa and move towards the city. There is no one to defend. The USA will respond by operationally moving their Washington corps into Ottawa. 4) Land on US soil, take Washington. USA surrenders, Washington corps disappears, take Ottawa. Voila, by the end of 1940 North America is gone Of course it's completely unrealistic and strategically outrageous, but is was fun to discover. I found out that trick in the demo before I got the full game and haven't tested it since though
  18. Hi all, I just signed up, so I hope this hasn't been asked over and over again, but I was wondering: will we be able to increase the number of teams/factions/whatever in global theater? For instance, will we be able to have a Allies vs. Axis vs. USSR free for all? That would rock
