  1. My american comrades here seem to enjoy it too!
  2. Bulky in compaism to the short M4? Perhaps! But heavy? I don´t think so. The G36 is a formidable weapon with a lot of advantages, I don´t think it´s a drawback! By the way: We have to shorter versions in the Bundeswehr, too. The G36 K (kurz) and the G36 C (commando)
  3. Some more pictures: Kommando Spezialkräfte: Soldier of the Quick Reaction Force: On patrol 1: On patrol 2
  4. @ Snake eye I also want to thank you for a great campaign. I finished it yersterday! The map on the first 3 scenarios was the best i ever played, the campaign style with less armour at the beginning an a lot of infantry fights is exactly, what i like most. More please! Greets, MARS42
  5. @ jjhouston Very impressive youtube-movie, thanks!
  6. As i mentioned in another thread, i like the german desert camo in Afghanistan :
  7. @ Steve I don´t know, if it is asked yet, but which side will be played by the customer in the Campaigns? In my opinion, the game-play makes only sense, when the customer plays the attacker against a defending KI. So it might be... Basic game: Normandy: Playing the US 1. Modul: Commenwealth: Playing the Brits 2. Modul: Bulge: Playing the Germans. Am i right? Greets, MARS42
  8. I hope we will see a german Sniper Team with the G82. Barett with german optics! And the G22, of course: Maybe interesting: The german handheld-weapons! http://www.deutschesheer.de/portal/a/heer/kcxml/04_Sj9SPykssy0xPLMnMz0vM0Y_QjzKLNzSLtzD0AMlB2AbO-pFw0aCUVH1fj_zcVH1v_QD9gtyIckdHRUUAqzYpIA!!/delta/base64xml/L2dJQSEvUUt3QS80SVVFLzZfMTZfODFJ?yw_contentURL=%2FC1256F870054206E%2FW2693DPG635INFODE%2Fcontent.jsp
  9. @ Lee The new light MG4, which is also in Bundeswehr service, rocks, too! Watch on Youtube:
  10. To add to the list: Panzerpioniere with the Fuchs KSK (Kommando Spezial Kräfte) would be cool, but i don´t think, they will come, because in the other Moduls, there were also no Special forces! @ Piecekeeper: What is a CV 9040? Do you have a picture?
  11. Yes, you are right, all of them use the Wiesel with MK 20 (mm) and TOW, maybe also the Mortar-Wiesel. Which type of light Infantry would be first? Normally, over the last years, Fallschirmjäger or Gebirgsjäger were the first, who steped in. Both have a kind of Elite-Infantry-status.
  12. I think, it will be similar to the contingents we saw in the US and British moduls, that means mostly armoured units. Panzer with Leo 2 A6 Panzergrenadiere with Marder Panzeraufklärer with Fennek One sort of light Infantry with Fuchs and Dingo That can be Jäger, Fallschirmjäger or Gebirgsjäger (last one would be cool!) The rest? Who knows?
  13. HAHAHA, very good! A dutch-german AT-AT, which fires Gouda and Sauerkraut, a dream come true!!!
  14. You are right, but would be fun to have it in the game!
  15. Hey Battlefront-Team: 1. Gepard: I´m a former Bundeswehr-Officer and i agree with you, that the Gepard is not used against ground-targets. The Gepard has 40 rounds antitank ammunition on board, yes, but it´s only used in open ground to ground combat, when all other vehicles failed. 2. A nice vehicle, which was forgotten in this thread until now, is the "Boxer": Looks a bit like the Stryker. Would be cool to see it in the game! In the following Youtube-clip you can see it after 3 Minutes 12 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XnIm_F2Okw&feature=fvw Greets MARS42
  16. A short break: I found an interesting little clip about the Leopard 2 A6 topic, we discussed a few a days ago in this thread: May be interesting for some guys: Greets MARS42
  17. @ Battlefront - Team Only for remembering: I repeat my questions from the beginning of this thead: 1. I know, you will not mention a release-date here, but will we see it in 2009 or 2010? 2. May you give me/us some sweets here about the weapons and vehicles we have to expect, not only for the Bundeswehr, also for the other armies. 3. Any other info about the NATO-Modul would be nice! May anyone be so kind to give a short answer? Greets MARS42
  18. @ Bulgaroktonos Good morning! You asked for my expience with the G36. G36 was not my standard-rifle, because during my duty-time, the G3 with 7,62 mm was normal in the army. But i shot with the G36 several times, so i can say that the weapons is a great development, especially the transparent magazin with a clip, to mount another magazin at the left and the right, the visirs, the handling in burst-mode. With the corss-hair-visir you can shoot a target up to 600m. With the red dor visir you fight officially till 100 m, but i made also some easy shots at a distance of 200m with it. The weapon can be used by left and right handers equally. Here is a link to the Heckler & Koch website: http://www.heckler-koch.de/HKWebText/detailProd/1928/85/4/19 Greets MARS42
  19. @ Damian90 I don´t know, if your arguments are right, but it sounds plausible for me. I accept, that you have more knowledge about this topic than i have! I was Gebirgsjäger (Mountain infantry) and later Raketenartillerist (Rocket Artillery), so i would have to ask one of my comrades of the Panzertruppe to extend a servere discussion about the armour with you! Greets, MARS42 P.S Where are the Danish and Canadian people here? No one interestet in the NATO-Modul?
  20. @ Vergeltungswaffe: I´m don´t think to earnest about this topic! As long as the USA and Germany are not shooting at each other, its not really important, is´nt it? And to be honest: Our Heer would be a real tough enemy, but i would state here, that it would be suicide to mess with your Navy and Airforce, our Marine and Luftwaffe is to little for something like that. I have done some really good exercises with american comrades and it was always a pleasure and made fun!
  21. @ Field Marshal Blücher Instead of serving as a conscript (they are not allowed to go Afghanistan, they must extend their duty to a minimum of 18 month to serve there), some young men and women, who have a higher school degree (as the mentioned later students) make the decision to serve 2 years as a Reserveoffiziersanwärter. During their later civil life, they have the possibility to serve on some exercises and degrees to become a lieutenant and higher. Some of these people decide to take part on foreign missions for 4 month, but they normaly serve in cimic troops or HQs. That these people serve in frontline units is not the normal case, but sometimes possible. The troops in our syria scenario would have no conscripts and only few Reservists (= a kind of national guard) Greets, MARS42
  22. @Damian90 I absolutely think that the new A6 with the longer canon-barrel, the new armour (thickness says not much: Quality of armour is decisive) and sensors can mess with every tank in the world, especially with the Abrams. As long as the USA buys a licence for our 120mm canon, because they are not able to built a similar punch-weapon, as long is the german Panzerbau the line to mess!
  23. @ M1A1TC The Wiesel (not Weisel ) ist mostly used by the light infantry, like Gebirgsjäger or Fallschirmjäger. So i don´t think, that we will see Wiesel in the NATO-Modul. @ Damian90 I don´t think, that the German ground forces (Heer) have to hide from any US-ground force. Our heavy equipment is excellent. The only exclusion is the Marder, which is a little bit old now and will be replaced in near futute by the PUMA. Our Hand-Weapons with G36, MG4, MP7 from Heckler & Koch are all new and, in my opinion, the best handheld weapons in the world. And, like mentioned before, the MG 3 (improved MG42) is the weapon with the best punch, a Infantrie-Gruppe can have! Our Kampftruppen-Soldiers are well trained and can mess with all Nato-Partners, that´s my experience in several international exercises. (I´m a retired Army-Captain) Conclusion: Don´t make the mistake to compare the careful and defensive german politicians with the skills of our troops. They did not have the possibility to show their full capacities until now. (By the way: Our foreign policy is okay! Because of our history, we have to think twice, before we send our army into a foreign country.) Greets, MARS42
