  1. Now that the British Forces module is out, what is next? I read about a NATO module - what for? These guys were worthless in Kosovo ten years ago, and equally useless in Afghanistan today. Give me Canadiens, Ausies any day... Hey, how about Israelis - talk about some real world combat experience... But, again, if shiny new gear (never used) is your fancy, maybe NATO Forces module will be better choice for the developers... What do you think?
  2. So, I am playing the Marine campaign and usually have different types of units in the same vehicle. That immediately makes me prone to error when a unit is acquiring ammunition from the vehicle, it takes the wrong ammo. Now, few rounds of the wrong MG ammo won’t kill me, but when an infantry squad grabs couple of those precious Javelins… aaagghh… it hurts. I know that at this time there is no way to ask for a refund from the vehicle commander, but is there a plan within the Battlefront developers for a possibility of exchanging equipment between units – in a vehicle or even out in the open? What I would like to see is the following: - Possibility to drop unnecessary equipment anywhere on the map – leave it in a vehicle (if there is room for it), drop in on the ground (mark it as a pile of stuff, for others to pick up), or exchange it directly with other units (Marines/soldiers) on the field; - A better “Acquire” screen – maybe the icon of the unit with al its members (with weapons shown) and available ‘cargo’ slots; and on the other side the vehicle with all of its cargo and available ‘cargo’ slots. Highlighting an item and using back and forth arrows would allow the player to manage the ammo acquisition. When dropping stuff on the ground a similar interface, but with unlimited ‘cargo’ slots representing the ground where the drop/acquisition would occur. I know, I know it’s a bit too ambitious, but you have to agree that it is unrealistic for any small unit to get stuck with the wrong ammo load and to continue to burden itself throughout the battle and not simply ditching it. Any thoughts ?
  3. I always make sure to close all programs before starting CMSF, and usually all scenarios work fine on the highest settings (1280x1024), but that one has always been a problem. It is the one with a huge map, where you are covering the flank of the mayn thrust before Objective Diana. The map is huge and when I played it before it took ferever to load and save during the mission. Now it just gives me the error, so I gave up on the campaign and concentrated on individual scenarior, which is still fun, but it would be a bit ambarassing for the developers if people are avoiding one of the 'important' features of the games because of bugs...
  4. While starting a mission from the TF Thunder campaign, I got that error...
  5. Should I expect a difference further into the second campaign?
  6. Am I loosing my mind or the two "battle" campaigns are identical? I played TF Lightning and then I started the TF Thunder, but the first mission is the same in both campaigns. What am I missing?
  7. I thought there will be new campaigns with the patch...!? I have the Paradox version of the game and installed the patch yesterday with the anticipation of some new "fighting", but to no avail... Am I missing something?
  8. I read a lot of complains, and encounter numerous bugs, some features are not up to par, more features I would like to added, BUT it is the best game on the market at this time. We all would like it to be better and are inpatient for the fixes, but as a Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six veteran, let me tell you that when game companies get BIG, either by sells or influx of investors, they go for the console market. Nothing’s wrong with the Segas and the Playstations of the world, but it is a fact that games get dumber when they are redesigned to fit the console, and the PC versions suffer – WE SUFFER… So, let’s try to be supportive of a team that loves the subject of tactically accurate games as much as we do, cut them some slack, and hope that will help them produce more exciting material for us to chew on…
  9. I am playing the campaign with Task Force Thunder, and the game has been solid - no crashes, no weird behavior, BUT after a specific mission the game gives me the winning screen and tries to load the next mission. The progress indicator climbes quickly to 50% and it stays there forever, the only way out of this state is to reboot... The mission in question is the one where I am attacking the outskirts of a village at night - the mission that all the commanders in the region appear to be having a powwaw at my location... Has anybody else seen the same bahavior?
  10. Use the guys that are in the original force to clear their path to the trenches they are suppose to occupy, then flank the loooong building in front of the other trenches _ watch out for the AT team on the roof of that weird looking garage. It is a good idea to put a MG team on the roof of one of the tall building as guardian angels. When reinforcements arrive forget abouot using them until the original guys have cleared the marketplace building. Also watch out for your ammo it goes fast if you do not exercise fire discipline and, trust me, your guys will try to kill anybody in sight even if they are far away. Good luck and give 'em hell...
  11. How about one squad with Javelins and no trained 'shooter' gives their spare missiles to another squad, huh? Now that would be a real team work in action... ...and since we are dreaming up new features, how about supply air drops - in order to simulate long patrols, your units would start with less then optimal ammo count, but they can resupply if 'lucky'
