  1. I've been perusing the threads here and noticed two replies about the F&R install. One says you need to uninstall CMRT before installing F&R. The other says that uninstalling is NOT necessary as the new install will overwrite the already installed CMRT anyway. Which one or both of these replies is correct? Id' like to know before I DL and install F&R>
  2. I too am really excited about this engagement coming to CMBN. I have at least a half-dozen books on the subject of Michael Wittman's famous attack on the British column. In 1985 I took my father back to Bayeux in Normandy. We stood on the exact spot on Omaha Beach where he came ashore. We visited many place in the area: Point du Hoc, Pegasus Bridge and of course the villages of Ste. Mere-Eglise and Villers-Bocage. The somber German military cemetary at La Camba was in stark contrast to the beautiful American on overlooking Omaha Beach. Anyway, I digress, but thanks for taking this on for us George. I'm looking forward to playing your scenario when it is complete.
  3. I thought I'd pass along to the forum this link to a positive review of CMBN from a New Zealand website. Apologies, if this has already been posted elsewhere, although in a brief search of the forum I didn't see this article: Link: //nzgamer.com/pc/reviews/1399/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy.html
  4. Normal Dude, I'm really looking forward to this one. I wish I had your talent. BTW, thanks again for posting the "Closing the Pocket" scenario!
  5. Just wanted to say a big THANK-YOU to all you modders for eveything you've posted! The Mods have already made a wonderful game even more enjoyable! Looking forward to what you guys come up with next. Talk about jobs well done, CMBN just keeps getting better and better!
  6. Thanks OZ for the reply. I'm beginning to sound like I'm repeating myself here, but I checked the Knowledge Base again and found the answer. Even though I've already patched to v1.21 and v1.31, I was able to install the NATO Module and just rerun V1.31, while at the same time checking ALL the module boxes. It worked like a charm! In the future I'm going to have to stop being so unaware and check the Knowledge Base before posting a question to this forum!
  7. I too will keep playing the TOW1, 2, 3 and Korea. With the exception of CMSF+All Modules and CMBN, the TOW series are my favorite RTS wargames. In my mind what else is out there except for PZ CMD Ostfront which is the only turn-base game I like and own. (OK, I do admit I occasionally play Company of Heroes and all add-ons!) I do sometimes need a game thats' a little less hardcore! Like I've said before, this is a great time to be a wargamer!
  8. A few days ago I received and installed the NATO Module into my CMSF+Marines+BAF. Like others here on this thread the NATO addition porked my game V1.31, so I uninstalled everything and did a reinstall but without the NATO module. CMSF+Marines+BAF patched to V1.31 is working correctly again. My apologies, as I failed to read the knowledge base here concerning this subject until now. Anyway here are my questions: 1) Can I install NATO into CMSF now that it is already patched to V1.31 or will I have to uninstall everything again and start from scratch? 2) If I CAN do the above I assume I will have to run the V1.31 patch AGAIN to update NATO? 3) If re-running the V1.31 patch will work should I just check the NATO box or should I check ALL of the module boxes on the patch rerun?
  9. I'm a long time player of Panzer Command and since I own both PCK and PCOWS I got the "NEW" Ostfront for free. I like each game for what they represent individually. Ostfront is the only turn-based game I own as I generally prefer RTS. I must say however, that I'm currently spending more time with CMBN. My favorite feature of CMBN is locking onto a vehicle (like a Panther) and directing fire at the enemy at the "down and dirty" ground level. I was hooked by CMBN in the "Closing the Gap" scenario as I positioned my Panthers just behind the hill after gaining adequate LOS and started methodically taking out enemy armor. BTW, this feature is the reason I also own ALL of the TOW series games. I also love the easy to use in-game Mission Generator in TOW which for me is equivalent to the equally loved Quick Battle Mode in CMBN. All-in-all this a a wonderful time to be a wargamer!
  10. Thanks for posting this scenario. Now, if someone can post the other Demo scenario "Closing the Gap" my CMBN wargaming life will be complete!
  11. My apologies for this redundant post, I see another thread below with this same question. I need to be more observant on this forum in the future.
  12. First off, CMBN is superb! I'm already completely hooked! Great job to everyone at BF! In the Demo I really enjoyed the "Closing the Gap" scenario. Since I've uninstalled the Demo I was curious to where that particular mission was in the full game. Is it under another name, is it part of a particular campaign of was it just a one-on for the Demo? And if it was just for the Demo can it be imported into the full game from the Demo?
  13. Dark Morcar, I just wanted to say "Danke" for the Campaigns, Missions and Mods you've provided here. I'm also enjoying the music files as well. I've placed your scenarios (missions) files in the proper folders and they are working, however the mission descriptions are not showing up. Is there something else I need to do? I do see the text file in your folders. P.S. I'm sure you would be getting a lot more attention if it wasn't for the release of CMBN that coincided with your original post here. Thanks again!
  14. Moon, Thanks for the clarification. I had a hunch that the BF module might roll back the patch. So, the fix is to just run the 1.21 patch again, after the new module install. No worries then, will do.
  15. I'm getting ready to purchase the British Forces Module. I'm already playing the base CMSF with the Marines Module patched to 1.21. My question: Can I just install the British Module over what I have without making any changes to my current install? Thanks.
  16. Follow-UP. Well, it looks like the new update has fixed my startup.exe problem. So, now if I click on the Kursk desktop icon it goes to the updater and then I click Play from there, and the game starts. Kind of a roundabout way to start the game, but it works so I'm not complaining!
  17. OK, I own TOW1, TOW 2Afrika and DL and played the Kursk Demo with no problems. However, this is my first Digital Download of an entire TOW game (my other full games I installed from Disc.) On installing Kursk at the very end of the install where the installer exe. says it will have to restart the computer it did not do this on its' own, I had to finally manually do a restart myself. I got the game started and started adjusting my settings. After doing that and restarting my PC I tried starting Kursk and got the "Kursk 1943.exe has stopped working message." I never had this error with any of the TOW games. I'm running Vista 32-bit and I DO have UAC off, as I've found I don't have to run TOW games and others "as adminstrator." I've also tried running in "XP Comp Mode." And yes, I've also tried running as "admin" just for the hell of it. I've tried "disabling deskop comp" (I'm using a 1680x1050 native res.) I'm still having the same problem. I've tried looking through the program/data filed to see if something is missing like a dll file or mcvsp file, but haven't notice anything. Should I resort to an uninstall and reinstall of the game? What is the fix for this problem? My system and specs: Falcon-NW Fragbox2 Gaming PC Intel Duo-Core 3.16Ghz Chip ATI Radeon 4850GC Vista 32-bit OS w/4mb RAM 7200rpm drive w/185mb free space
  18. I'm downloading the Kursk Demo right now. Thanks for making it available! Now, I'll be ready when my pre-order DL for the full game is posted. I've read the info about the new features since TOW2, but what should I look at first when trying the Demo? Anything that stands out for a veteran of TOW1 and TOW2?
  19. Just pre-ordered my copy. Hoping you guys can get the DL ready sooner than estimated. Currently re-reading my books on Kursk and getting ready for battle.
  20. Moon, thanks for the quick reply. I'll keep an eye on this site later this week.
  21. As a proud owner of TOW and TOW2: Afrika I was wondering if you are going to offer the same pre-order deal you've posted for Strategic Command? I can't wait to start playing Kursk and will want to DL the digital version, but also want to have the boxed version with manual, etc. Hopefully, you are going to offer the same deal, right?
  22. I ordered TOW2 on April 26 and here it is May 9 and I still haven't received it. Is it just me or has anyone else received their copy in the mail yet? For a $10 shipping charge I would think it would have arrived by now.
