  1. I think the weather works differently from the way I thought... It appears that if something is a weather zone, that is the same for the whole map with that zone, as opposed to being more generic and randomized over various areas. Is that correct? That means I will have to change my system some and divide up some of the weather areas more. I have one desert terrain which means the whole world's deserts have the same weather all the time this way!

  2. Do any veteran designers have some ideas on how necessary and important the various script types are?

    I looked at say the scripts for the 1939 scenarios like Storm of Steel and they are quite a lot. I may simply copy and adapt some of them. However, how necessary are they? What kind of behavior does the AI have without them? Any suggestions on which are most critical vs. which are less so?

    Thanks - any help would be appreciated.

  3. I am still not sure about the garrison/fleet issue - I added scripts for garrisons. The land ones seem to work exactly right. However, when I added ports to be garrisoned it seems that sometimes the AI moves ships away anyhow - is that because ports should NOT be in garrison scripts or because sometimes it overrides that for other reasons?

  4. Since I will need the patch fix to get my campaign to work - any idea on when it will be ready?

    The issue was that if I set a minor at 100% active and the parent joins, any territory the minor had lost gets regained and a "switches sides" event takes place for some reason. Hubert mentioned it was a bug that would be fixed in the next patch.

    I don't mean to sound impatient, just want to have an idea of timeframe :)

  5. If I want the AI to "garrison" a port I need to use the fleet script, is that correct? The garrison script is only for ground units?

    I am starting to write AI scripts for the campaign so it will be ready for beta testing both human and vs. AI. I tested it against the AI and while the turns are longer, a couple minutes, they are not impossibly long considering how large the map is. Finding and fixing script errors now. I also need to go back and finish the terrain and weather for US/Canada and a few other small things. It won't work past US entry anyway until the bug gets fixed.

  6. I had not fixed the graphics yet so I was aware of that. I didn't finish it yet. I did just fix the graphics though since I uploaded it.

    The reason, as I said in other thread, that I made Italy a minor is that the allies need to be able to re-capture Paris and get a capital city. Also, if it is a minor, they won't be connected to London and get half value. Much better to have Italy as a minor. Downside is research, but the price increase for upgrades helps keep that in check.

  7. because if France is not a major power the allies can never capture a capital city on the continent, making it very hard for them to get full supply. Since Italy is connected to Berlin, it was less of an issue to make them a minor, and I changed the graphics so that the axis minor use the Italian units. My upload does not have all the graphics fixes I made - I pretty much have those done now.

  8. I used Siberia as a country. Japan can choose war but otherwise it is neutral. I also have the neutrality pact as a decision event. If they say no, Siberia activation goes up a lot - not quite high enough for war but close and could be diplo'd easily - I also lowered diplo cost to 100/50 and increased amounts it affects, so it is a good strategy to spend money on. When germany surrenders, it is pretty much guaranteed to activate, simulating the war vs. manchuria in 45
