  1. Blucher: Do you really think those targets have nothing to do with their 'war effort'. I doubt very much that there's one perspective on what that effort is. Define their purpose? Perhaps that war now is in part sectarian, genocidal even. Are a majority in Iraq terrorists? I think there is quite a strong disparity between, Insurgents (could also be labeled Patriots), Jihadists and sectarian combatants. I think a few people in power in the US at the moment are guilty of an incalculable quantity "politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatants". I'm really interested in unpacking some of this stuff. But, I think I'll start a fresh thread and see if anyone's interested and stop hijacking this one.
  2. Oh I assure you I'm not confused. YOU call them 'terrorists', they may call themselves the right arm of God. THAT'S THE POINT!!! YOUR VIEW IS *NOT* THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD THAT THINKS IT HAS THE MONOPOLY ON WHATS RIGHT. Either they're ALL right or none of them. OMFG..... you trying to tell me the US forces aren't trying to force everyone to do what America wants.... FFS that's ridiculous, truly. Go on, tell me, George Bush just wanted to relieve Iraq from the tyranny of Saddam and get him back for trying to kill his daddy. Everything you just said gets said in 'terrorist' training camps, with 'terrorist' replaced by 'America' and '$'. They're not like us, they're animals. What a completely 'irreverent' 'un-honorable' and 'un-reasonable' thing to say. Wanna be 'free' of terror, look first in your own backyard. " In fact, back in 1776, all fifty-six leaders of the American Revolution were branded as terrorists and Britain wanted them ‘dead or alive.’ Their crime: they signed the American Declaration of Independence." A spokeswoman for Prime Minister Tony Blair, "if the United States can claim that the non-uniformed fighters in Afghanistan are illegal combatants, then Great Britain can claim that the non-uniformed colonial Minutemen fighting the British troops were also illegal combatants." 3. I'm trying to re-find a some information that I read a few years ago. It was a description from the battle for Fallujah -GWII, that detailed some entrenched T-72s or armour of some sort, that they destroyed with shoulder fired javelins and I think HMMWV mounted javelins. Anyone got a link?
  4. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. I'm sure the British cast the Americans as terrorists during the Revolutionary War. Evil, that's a broad term, perhaps some could apply it to Osama, others to Saddam and Bush and Dick Cheney. Then we have all the brave souls, both red and blue, who go and die for people that both sides label evil men. How do we label them?????? Heroes? Fools? Both?
  5. I don't disagree, in fact I stated it. The thrust of my point was to do with his 'Fox News' perception of the insurgents/terrorists. And remember...... One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.
  6. LoL, it's called propaganda..... Though I'm sure the 'Coalition' would never stoop to the use of misinformation or exaggeration in order achieve a desired outcome.
  7. I think you miss the point entirely...... "Even by pathetic terrorist standards...?" W-T-F? They're fighting against massive technology, firepower, resource and generally training advantages. With all those things against them they still fight, nothing pathetic about that or them. For the most part they're dangerous mutha'FluFFers, fighting a thousand pound guerrilla any way they can, who you definitely underestimate at your own peril. Yep, the insurgents in that video you posted may have been stupid re-entering a field of fire in darkness like that in such a nonchalant way ..... on the other hand they were willing to risk their life to retrieve that RPG, which was probably quite an asset to them. Your statement is naive in the extreme. I really hope your just a 13 year old hooyaa' and not an adult with such a myopic, unthinking perspective.
  8. Yeah thanks for that SGT.Muhammed, I was thinking specifically squad depletion. Do you guys simulate Company or Platoon level command by assigning Battalion HQ as 'reinforcments' then designating them to arrive outside the mission time frame, or is there a more simple way?
  9. Ok next dumb question, what about assigning casualties to a unit. Or making the dismounted crew of a vehicle into casualties?
  10. Thanks peoples..... I might just keep this thread going for a bit....and keep throwing in my noob questions for some more assistance...... cheers.....
  11. TBH I'm stunned by the lack of flexibility in the mission development area....... If I add say a supply platoon, the entire group has to be designated destroyed, immobilized etc.... no scope for varying damage from functional to burning for each discrete vehicle. Unless I'm missing something...... It also seems that it's impossible to field an under strength company. Or platoon, combining strikers and hummers. It's perfect world scenario stuff, simply not reflecting the reality and necessity to use available cav vehicles from time to time. Look at some of the **** they're using on deployment in Afghanistan and Iraq. Please, give us the ability to break units and deplete them in various ways in scenario deployment. Also, how do you load out a small group of unconventionals with rpg for hit and run urban ambush scenarios?
  12. Take a look at the vehicle graveyard that has become Iraq. Has anyone unpacked the models for CM vehicles and been able to add them to 'flavour objects' in the scenario editor, so that destroyed or disabled vehicles can be added as environment or objectives?
