  1. I'm the one who have less time to play and I'm looking for smaller and shorter scenarios. It was nice to see some very good small scenarios in CMFI. I specially enjoyed "Catch a Tiger!" and "Fight at Fallebruca" scenarios. Thanks for the scenario designers, looking forward for more.

Sicily is totally different and new tactics is needed. I have very little knowledge of this campaign, but so far I had fun playing. Still eager to experience more...

I'm hoping that I can make few scenarios too (if I find time for it) but in the meantime I hope YOU GUYS make more of these, please! There are people who love small scenarios and I'm one of them. So everyone who likes small & short scenarios please speak up and ask for more!

  2. I agree most of the stuff he's saying about the interface. I found it annoying all the time, but tend to ignore it because CM is so fantastic game.

BW, you really should fix these things about interface:

-Pop-up help windows for ALL (example rank etc. interface buttons etc.)

    - make mouse and wheel interface like most 3D strategy games does (wheel zoom etc.)

These are the most important things to fix.

BTW. You nailed me (again). I was thinking NOT TO order CMFI and wait for next upgrade and order CMFI and new expansion for bargain price, but...

Yeah.. Ordered super-expensive expansion again (80$ and euro rate is poor...). I'm eagerly looking for overlay-function in map editor. I remember talking about adding that feature in forums before. Great thing that you really done that! I'm a scenario designer and it will make my work MUCH MORE easier. That hopefully means that I can make more scenarios for people.

  3. I can promote my small scenarios too:

La Meauffe - almost 1500 downloads and rated averaged five star by 18 people. Try and hopefully you like it.

If you're looking for very small and fast scenario try Mouse Trap or Tiger's Day.

If you know more nice small scenarios that you like, plz tell. I'm eager to play smaller ones. I like few platoon size with reinforcements coming later up to a company or two but no more than that.

  4. From my experience people are looking different type of scenarios. I like reading comments more than star ratings. Example I like smaller scenarios more than larger battles. But I tend not to give poor ratings for larger scenario just because it's not my type of battle. Instead I look how balanced scenario is, how good is the map AI etc.

Overall ratings are good thing, but only if there are more than 10 raters to balance it more. So people! If you like or dislike rate scenario! And giving few lines of comments are even better!

I do believe scenario makers still have things or two to learn from CMBN and we will see better and better scenarios over time.

  5. Add more points for defender's primary objective. Example if you have several objectives give few secondary objectives example 100 points and main objective 500-750 points (maximum points 1000p).

I found this out by trial and error. No more annoying early surrender before final objective has been taken.

If you want to end the scenario when other side is completele wiped out you can add "casualties 100%". But I would recommend giving example 80-90% casualties. That way when other side is annihilated and unable to fight back scenario ends. You can assign as many points you like. Same way you can give friendly forces casualties example 40% and if they have lower casualies they get bonus points etc.

  6. Small scenarios are also much faster and easier to make. Play testing 1h 30 min monster scenario with large forces, all different variables and timetables is enormous task.

I too think scenario makers could make more short 30-45 min scenarios with smaller forces and maps. They are fun and take less time to play. Perfect for people who doesn't have many hours of playing time.

    Thanks for comments.

  7. Odd uniform bug indeed. Good thing that it won't effect game play. Hopefully uniforms will be fixed in next patch. Airborne scecialist should wear same parachuter's uniforms than regular battalion guys.

Actually in my first version I used B.A.R. for J. "Mad" Gigson. But after checking that paratroopers usually didn't use B.A.R. I chaged this team to Scout Team. "Mad" Gibson's team is seriously rocking with his submachine gun. :)

    Play tip:

To achieve all objectives you need to be AGRESSIVE and advance QUICKLY. Your troops are better trained than rear guard troops you're encountering. It will take some time before German make countermove. So prepare you defences.

  8. Small & short airborne scenario. 35 minutes. Playable on US vs. German AI only.

    SITUATION

    6 June 1944

    0250 hrs

    Merderet River, Normandy

This is it; D-Day. The 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions will drop behind Utah and Omaha beaches, provide flank cover, and secure vital bridges and towns. Because of low clouds and surprisingly heavy anti-aircraft fire, many transport planes have missed their jump zones by miles.

The Germans have also flooded part of the lowlands near the Merderet River. This looks like "low marshland" from the air, but in reality the water is 1-2 meters deep.

    MISSION

Your first priority is to survive. We have to get out of the marshland as quickly as possible. During the drop, we saw enemy machine gun fire coming from the nearby forest. We need to silence those machine guns before more men die in these marshes.

    FRIENDLY FORCES

Our forces are scattered all over. Most of our heavy weapons (machine guns and mortars) were lost in the marshes, and all we have left are light forces. Hopefully reinforcements will arrive soon.

    ENEMY FORCES

Little is known about current enemy strength in this sector. We are near the Merderet River, so last reports indicate the 91st Luftlande Division is in the area. Prepare for anything.

    PLAN

    - Move fast to dry land.

    - Recon enemy positions and clear enemy strong points.

    - Flank the enemy and stop them from retreating if possible.

    NOTES

Don't be surprised if some of the enemy withdraws. They are too confused by the situation.
