  1. Spotting in an attack is always a challenge since you're on the move. Spotting while defending gives you a chance to stake out the area until they come. I find that spotting in an attack with a force that can provide some suppression fire helps. Once the arty comes in then they're really suppressed giving you your chance to move.

  2. I've seen some interesting spotting too. Had a night mission with my greyhound moving in the night but spotted an 88 hidden in the edge of the woods. 88 never saw me (played this a few times), but never opened up on me. Not sure if night only affected him and not me.

Various factors could always be reasons for spotting I guess.

  3. Still makes me sad every time I see a Steve comment about how AK sold less than the rest of CMx1.

I love the desert. Nothing more fun than a bunch of non-uber tanks throwing up dust, shooting their shorts off at long range, and missing,...a lot.

Don't know if they will ever revisit N Africa, but I hope they will, too.

Same here. I loved the open terrain of tanks moving through the desert like ships at sea. There were some awesome battles I still remember from CMAK.

  4. Hey guys,

I was wondering what resources you guys use for creating scenarios? Recently I've been digging through my issues of Armchair General and found some great ideas to convert to CMBN scenarios. There are some limitations (ie-OOB, dates, locations), but I'm able to adapt and modify them to fit into CMBN.

From what I'm seeing, Armchair General magazine seems to like covering CMBN and other wargames out there.

  5. Hey folks,

It has been ages since I've touched CMAK and even longer since CMBO, and I've recently picked up CMBN+ within the last month. All I can say is it is great to be back. I've noticed a few differences in mechanics and features, but all mostly for the better.

I'm trying to comb through the forums to better understand the development of the game (can I say sim?) and if there are other resources I should be aware of. ie-http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/, the Repository, etc.

    Anyways, good to be back.
