i feel the rage subsiding

personally, considering how little effort an update takes to type...i find it a little rude
but then im just a customer cmbo cmbb cmak and now cmsf
ive funded the fluid for the brain jar...how about an update for your cash cows?
-
god, im so embarrased....how silly of me
-
turtle chucking in crysis is only so much fun....bring on this mythical 1.05 patch
-
how is that patch coming along? what are you working on?
not a 300 page book
not too much to ask
-
seems to be absolutly worthless...the rockets are fired haphazardly over a 2-3km line
i would imagine from the results, it looks like the pilot is firing while pulling out of a steep dive
rather than concentrating the rocket fire on a local area
i know they can do it....seen it on the gulf war videos
-
i have seen my TOW being fired way off map a few times too.....well away from any enemy icons.
like a clumsy trigger finger is being modelled
such detail, its AMAZHEING
-
its only been three weeks since the last post, what are you complaining about?
-
what i have seen so many many teeth knashing times is......as each INDIVIDUAL soldier comes into view...they get gunned down one at a timeBy the time the 'center of mass' of an advancing squad is spotted, enough of its soldiers are exposed/in the open such that, once the spotting, and, consequently, the shooting, starts, they have no time to retreat behind cover.
like lemmings
i have never seen your way where the entire squad is in view before the OPFOR opens fire with small arms

i dont get lock ups with my E6300, bu i do find i have to still drop to one processer...then i notice things like trees, terrain, and units draw in faster and smoother.
then i switch the extra cpu back on and it still runs really nice

bleh, firing in combat isnt the same as sitting on a range......hard to hit a thing actually
i was on our company shooting team for both years i was in the army (not a sniper by anymeans)
im confident i could hit a running man at 300m probably 4/5 times from a prone position blah blah blah...we did reaction shoots...the whole nine yards.
then we used to have live fire assault drills where you had to run 200m through the bush at a timed pace (not flat out but fast) then do a range where you had to fire and manover your way down the range shooting at targets from 25 to 150m away.
with the run, the 4 steps...drop to the ground, shuffle off position, fire, shuffle off position and another 3 steps......for 100m of range, most were lucky to even get a round on paper.
let alone if the targets were firing back.

i was just curious, probably a little off topic for this forum.....i am watching "band of brothers" on dvd at the moment
good show, but i was wondering about the fidelity of the tactics used during filming, i keep hearing how the actors had to do basic training and etc etc to be authentic
all i see are large groups of soldiers patrolling in a closed up herd with no set spacing, chatting away to each other.
people firing from the hip, all sorts of rubbish that would have a size 11 in your arse if you even did this in basic training.....let alone battalion
is this just consessions made to make it better to watch for the viewer? or was most of the tactics used for patrolling, fire and manover and such invented after ww2?

35 fps
everything maxed at 1440x990
C2D 6300
2gig ram
7600gt
audigy 4 soundcard
i get great performance, way better than some who have better rigs than me
-
that doesnt sound like a bug, maybe the unit hasnt seen the enemy unit yet, i bet if you go through all the highlighted troops, at least one of them will have eyes on the target

i'm very impressed
huge FPS increase, smoother framerates, no mouse lag
love the ability to que? orders at waypoints too, setting a different arc per way point is fun

one more man = $/more

a shellscrape is a coffin sized trench to fight out of.
we normally had to dig one after every attack...takes about 15-20min of hard digging to dig the hole and mask the tailings with grass
use to hate digging them for "practice" all the time

why limit to syria?
why not release various terrains? all sorts of weapon era's
can have a 10 sherman's v 1 M1A2 duel for giggles
a jungle vietnam
falklands....make it a total war editor

would it be hard to have a setting that locked the view to a unit at ground level?
maybe birds eye at set-up then locked on the unit at 1st person height until the AAR.
gentlemans rules isnt enough, esp when your playing australians
-
the inability to see how far you are dragging a covered arc out to.
the lack of ingame info on seperate weapon systems and most importantly--range
ditto on the quasi-wego system, little bit upset at the tac-ai but expecting good things from the patching process
small arm evolution and body armour
in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Posted
any of the grogs know what the next evolution of the small arm is going to be?
seems like with the advent of effective body armour these days...and over the next 50 years that the merry go round has come a full circle and personsal armour is getting pretty good......carbon nanotube and all that goodness doesnt seem far away either
whats the counter? are they still trying to get caseless ammo sorted?
flechette rounds?
