  1. In an ongoing PBEM game (patch 1.05a) I've noticed the following. I was protecting Egypt from German invaders coming from the east. In order to make things more difficult for them I placed a cruiser on the Suez tile. But during my opponent's move a German tank moved to the same tile and my cruiser disappeared. If the cruiser is undetected by the enemy the above occurs. But if an enemy unit is first placed adjacent to Suez tile, the cruiser is detected and no enemy unit can be placed on the Suez tile afterwards. The problem is likely to occur more frequently now since range for spotting sea units has been halved for land units. I don't think it should be possible to block enemies in the Suez (but perhaps in the Messina strait). But I don't think the blocking ship should disappear from the game.
  2. I have noticed two strange things in my ongoing PBEM (1.05a), where I play allies: 1. During replay of my opponent's moves I saw his paratroopers move NW of Budapest, even though my closest Russian air fleet is 10 hexes away. I have absolutely nothing nearby that could have spotted it. (I have noticed a similar thing with paratroopers already in 1.04) 2. On one turn with clear weather I was unable to attack Paris with my bomber. (I might have attacked on the previous turn, but Paris should be at a value greater than 0 anyway if that has any impact.) Paris is 5 hexes away, but every other target within range is eligible for attack, including 3-4 targets at max range. I have save files for both of these peculiarities. I have also received a crash when, after having moved most of my units, I pressed the "N" button on my keyboard to find the next untouched unit. I am not sure I am able to repeat that error though. It was on the first allied move in "Fall Weiss".
  3. Had a look at the sothern entry to the Red Sea, the Bab el Mandeb sound. The island of Perim divides the sound into two channels. The eastern is narrow and shallow but should be navigable. The western is 20 km wide and fairly deep. Further more, the island of Perim and the whole Aden area was under UK control. This area is outside the map so there is no point in arguing that it could have been Axis controlled (which probably would have been difficult for Axis to accomplish in real life), as the African side was at the beginning of the war. Conclusion: I see no topographical problem of entering the Red Sea from the south, and I don't see that it would have been possible for Axis to block the route, even if Axis had the African side under control. Vote: Unless the map is extended to the south by just a row of tiles or two, let's keep it as it is.
  4. I noticed the same thing with Iraq (this was patch 1.03). If USSR captures Iraq they get the MPP from Iraq, but the convoy also starts, providing the same MPP to UK. So eventually both USSR and UK got 48 MPP each from Iraq. What a goldmine! There may be other convoys that have the same issue. What happens if USA conquers Norway? Hubert probably got this covered, but I thought I'd report it to make sure it gets fixed.
  5. I think this is a bug. If a land unit enters an enemy fortification that gets destroyed it still receives half the max entrenhment value. And it keeps the entrenchment value as long as the unit stays on the tile. Hubert, this is not according to your description above. The keyword there is "friendly".
