  1. The Meta Campaign Operation Nemesis for CMSF is about to kick off. We're however in need of more Syrian players, especially Syrian OPCOs (operational commanders).

    As an OPCO you don't actually need CMSF to plan operations - a free-to-download CaT (Campaign Tool) is provided. You should however be interested in "the operational art of war".

    Head over to the website of the campaign and register if you feel you're up to the task!

  2. So, this is what I've found out about how importing "Core Forces" work;

    a) You can only import one formation (Core Force) to a scenario file. If you have one blue core force and import a red core force, the blue will be erased.

    B) To get around this limitation you can make a scenario file with both blue and red units, save it and then import the units from this file into a new scenario and you will get both a blue and a red core force, but;

    c) if you try to import a second time into this new scenario, say a blue formation, the editor will erase the blue formation that previously was the blue core force.

    Now, I understand that this function of the editor was designed to be used when building campaigns, and as such it works fine.

    But, if it should happen to involve just minor work for the developers ;-) I hereby humbly request the possibility to have multiple imports without core forces being erased... Maybe added in an upcoming patch? (I know, I know, this is very low priority...)

    Why? It would be such a bliss when building CM battles for a meta campaign!

  3. Well, for starters anyway ;-) I'll make you a member of the blue team and after that you'll be able to access the blue subforum (and the blue orbat).

    You should preferably have all 3 modules, but you will be able to participate even if you don't - there's a certain risk however that you won't be able to play out a Tactical Battle (TACBAT) if there's equipment involved that you haven't got. On the other hand; there will be plenty of TACBAT situations to choose from.

  4. Ok, so the review of registered forum members (of OPNEM) still active is almost finished.

    Some users have registered an account at the OPNEM forum after enlistment was closed - your accounts have now been activated and you're welcome to state your choice of side in the Enlistment thread over at the OPNEM forum. Once you've done that I'll make you members of the preferred team and you will be granted access to the team subforums.

    At the team subforums you'll be able to pick a free unit to command - let me know what your prefer by posting in the "orbat-thread" of respective subforum. Once you're a member of one of the teams you can also access the Team HQ pages of the OPNEM website and GDocs.

    To those registered members of the OPNEM forum who have not yet stated your choice of team: now is the time do it or you'll miss out on the start of the campaign!

    To those registered members who have not answered the general call for confirmation that was sent out a couple of weeks ago; if no reply has been received by the end of this week, your account will be deactivated.

    At the moment there's need for red Operational Commanders, so if you feel like you're up to it, have a look at the website of the campaign to learn more about playing as an OPCO in this Combat Mission Meta Campaign.

  5. This is reminder for those players who have enlisted in the Meta Campaign earlier; you have received an email (sent to the address you registered) to confirm if you still wish to take part in this campaign. If you do not want to participate disregard this reminder. If you do, visit the Operation Nemesis website to confirm.

    Not enlisted in OPNEM? Unfortunately at the moment no free slots are available. This might however change in the weeks to come.

  6. Well, the link to OPNEM is already in the Weblinks section, under "Multiplayer Leagues".

    As hcrof correctly mentioned it's still in development (and has been for some time...) No change though to the original plans - some time after the release of the NATO module the meta campaign is set to start. I'll be sure to get back with more news on how the campaign unfolds.

  7. As you may have noticed in this post in the Dev Blog there are plans to include some joint battlegroups/task forces with units from some of the new NATO countries and possibly one from the Peninsula Shield (the Arabian Peninsula).

    If things work out the way I've planned - yes, there will be a possibility to play with (perhaps!) Polish PT-91s, Kuwaiti M84s and BMP-3s from the UAE. But I will know for certain if these things are doable once we get the NATO module.

    You may enlist as a blufor player now and state your choice of unit closer to start of the MC, that's quite ok.

  8. Just thought I'll bump this old thread; development of Operation Nemesis has slowly progressed - and is progressing still. The campaign will however not start before the arrival of the NATO module - most likely it will be ready some time after that (will have to update the current orbats and other stuff!).

    Anyways, enlistment is open and there are still some seats free. OPNEM will probably have room for another 6-8 players. You're welcome to visit the site of the MC to find out if this might be something for you. Link in the sig.
