  1. Great graphics. That's all the game has going for it. Oh yea and the borg spotting. Gotta love that. AT guns buried in brush and a Russian tank buttoned up takes him out from about a mile away using there new ultra uber optics. I think the only part of the AT gun that was exposed was a MM of the turret. Too unrealistic for me. I give BFC credit for patching it but I think this clunker is off the hard drive as fast as it was put on.

  2. Before version 1.05, all maps were working fine. For some reason my units in Hammertime are doing the exact same movement as my Bradleys. If I order a quick move with a unit that has just disembarked from a Bradley that same Bradley will duplicate the quick move. I doubt it is your map but I had to replay it with the 1.05 version and your map just happened to be the first map I tried with 1.05. smile.gif

  3. I would have paid $100.00 or more at the time and feel the same way now. This sort of reminds me of people who bought Westcoast Chopper wear back in the day when it was pricey and very cool to wear, then bitched when they found it at Walmart and Zellers a year later and everybody and their dog was wearing it. Hey if you still like the game then any dollar amount is worth it.

Lets hope Ed Hardy wear is not about to suffer the same fate. ;)

OG_Gleep I think I generally dislike you at the moment. :D:D B/c of this little jab at my inferior tactics you have now forced me to start the whole campaign over again just to beat this one mission using your exact same strat. ;)

    Cheers

A reminder that I've said, since the beginning of Battlefront's existance, that it is impossible for us to please all people all the time so we don't even try.

We still know what we are doing and just because some people are bent out of shape that there are no hexes doesn't mean they are right. Oh wait... sorry, that was a different group of people that said we didn't know what we were doing. So easy to get people who think they know best confused

    Steve

Steve, you keep trying to defend your game. Why? The game is everything I thought it would be with no expections as to what it should be. This is of course an unbias opinion.

#1 I have never played your CMx1 games because to me I was not into 3 man lego block men representing 10 man squads. #2 I never caught onto turn based games. I guess that makes me not a true wargammer. Oh-well. Having said that I respect very much what you have previously done with the old series of CM and decided to give wego a try in the new CMx2 engine. Wow. I still enjoy RT better but it is nice to have that option. I actually enjoy wego with CMSF. I guess to summerize things up, I find the game very playable even with the minor bugs and have virtually no idea what the constant rants are about b/c I had no previous expections. ;)

Then you haven't played the game long enough smile.gif . I have finished the campaign and 75% of the battles. Through the whole campaign especially, they most definitely are on the same level and next to each other. Now being next to each other can be construed as being on opposite sides of the same room and the room being the approximate size of your bedroom. I have had instances like that also. The majority of the time though, it is an enemy in the same building on the same level, crawling around by my units feet attempting to tie his boot laces for him. And just to be sure I was not on the crack pipe, I used a 360 degree view to see how close each unit was and me thinks that this is a major bug that will take a few patches to fix. ;)

Exactly. This is very annoying and really needs looking at from BFC. At the very least, BFC should have given every inf unit a portable card table to go along with there ammo rounds and Jav's. That way there, when inf units are standing around side by side they can break into a friendly game of Texas No Limit Hold Em instead of actually killing each other. :rolleyes:
  8. I have found a bug that is getting just plain annoying. Inf units in any building level will not eliminate other enemy inf in the same level. I have had numerous occasions where enemy and freindly units alike occupy the same level and continue shooting out the windows at other enemy forces while ignoring each other. I think there should be a fix to this that before an enemy unit gets within 1 meter of a friendly unit on the same level, the outcome is automatically resolved by either or both units being KIA. Just my opinion. smile.gif

  9. You can achieve a total victory on Vet mode this way. Stay where you are for 1 min and let long range TOW's take out tanks way off in the distance. Next advance to phase line Charlie. Along the way take out the 2 armoured vehicles that you come into contact with first. Take them out without using Jav's or TOW's. Machinegun on Strykers should do the trick or 40mm Stryker for sure. As soon as you have made it to Charlie phase line dismount inf units and take position in the ditch that runs parallel with charlie. Hide all Strykers in that gully/ditch as well. Keep TOW Strykers in the gully and well back from the front line fighting as you know where the T72's are coming from. TOW Strykers are best kept way in the rear and out of sight. keep inf well protected in that gully but in the front line as they will have good LOS. At approximately 28 mins left in mission you will now see T72's begin to appear. Have your chopper ready before battle begins and click on any two T72's that you first see appear. Follow this and you should have at least 4 Strykers and all inf left intact after the battle. Also keep in mind once your TOW Strykers are Ko'd it is game over. You must keep them from being destroyed till main battle is over. smile.gif

  10. Well I figured it out. You have to conceal your strykers very well similiar to the way hull down works. I used the terrain very well in that map and picked some nice contours of the land. Thanks for the advice. Very fun map. This game is definitely no clickfest.

  11. Having a bit of trouble with this one on Vet mode. I have advanced through Alpha, Bravo, Charlie phase lines. I then stood watch over OBJ Diane area. I have destroyed every soviet tank but now have run out of TOW and Jav's. There is some armoured cars now running around and I have no rounds left to kill these armoured cars. Even my inf have run out of rounds. Tough battle. Through all this I still get a Tactical US Defeat!!! Any suggestions?

For many of us who were around in the early years of CM, WW2 is what we want to see done 'right'. We know Steve and Co. listen to thier customers most of the time, so might be a good idea for us to have a forum dedicated to helping them develop the game all the old WW2 CM'ers would like to see.

Most likely all of us want a product that will make us shelve our CMBO, CMBB and CMAK discs. I have to admit again, I'm worried that what we're given won't ever be able to replace the good old titles that bring so much enjoyment.

Infact Si32, I heard through the grapevine that a CMSF2 may be released before this WW2 game you are expecting. We should start a forum for CMSF2 right now, Yes? ;)
