No issues playing in 3D game (If I'm fast enough to start a 3D game). CM Battle for Normandy demo has the same behaviour. After 10-20 seconds of 2D menu time this sequence happens: -menu click options stop responding (selection of battle, saved game, etc) +1sec-Mouse icon freezes/screen freezes +1sec-Mouse icon changes to waiting icon +1sec-either the screen freezes and I must reboot or I can alt+tab / ctrl+alt+del and exit to windows. The only message I get is "CMSF does not respond" and I end the process. I tried to update the graphics drivers through the link but I was unable due to incompability issues. I updated the graphics through the HP website for my HP Pavilion dv6-6090es. I initially did it wrong without installing the old drivers but I later on uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics drivers. Thanks

I have a similar problem. If I stay around on the menu for longer than 20secs without starting a battle CMSF crashes. If I'm fast enough to begin a game I will be able to play, but when I end the game and go back to the menu the same thing happens. When you say 5.56x39 I suppose you mean 5.56x45 NATO right?

As an officer cadet I have used the Spanish MG3 on some field excersices (this is the only MG I've ever used so I don't really have much experience with this 'machines'). It performs really well, i mean, it's good in delivering bullets to the target. But it lacks ergonomics. Especially since we use it in the old school Squad LMG role(and my guess is that we will continue using it in that role until the mg4s arrive...). In my opinion it's a bit too heavy (11.5 kg!) to be used in the squad lmg role. The barrel can be quickly changed, but you must hold it with an asbestos mat or your gloves will melt. This slows down the process quite a lot, and then again, the spare barrel case is not particullary confortable to carry. The ammo is different from every other weapon we use in the squad (G36E). The ammo boxes we have are too crude and there is no thought-out way to carry them (just a handle). There are no optics platform or rails to attach optics, which I believe it greatly reduces it's efectiveness. I haven't used the MG4 or the minimi, but I willing to bet they are much more suited for this task. As an MMG with a tripod, you must wait until next year to get my opinion on it I won't see that until then.

If I remember correctly the army equivalent to the SMAW would be the M141 BDM (Bunker Defeat Munition), which is a disposable launcher, and not the M136 (AT-4). Does anyone know if there are those in the current version of CM:SF ? If not, does anyone know if they have been used widely enough for them to be moddeled in the game?

Back to topic: I once saw a conscript volksturm squad anahilate an entire russian squad with 4 grenades in less than 2 secs. The volksturm was hiding on a second floor and the russians were walking on the pavement with their backs to the enemy. The small arms fire lasted less than half a second so i guess most of the casualties were caused by the grenades.
