I ran the demo under a clean account in my machine and nothing else running to see if it still crashed and it did just as much as my standard account with all the junk. I can check off the admin run button and give it another go, but in my experiences it has been said but never helped. I am almost sure it is a video issue I just cant figure out what. I have tried the auto setting as well as custom video settings and its still crashes. It would be easier if the game took less than 5 minutes to laod between crashes and booting into a game. As far as patches I was one of the first to buy the new TOW game way back when and it crashed on most machines and everyone was pissed. So needless to say I learned my lesson and now wait for patches and read the forum. But I am confused as to why you would need to patch a release only two days out, Sure you are keeping up but to me that sounds like you didnt do the work before the release or your pre release pool is not close to your user base in equipment configurations. I am just saying...

I downloaded the demo and it crashed about 2 minutes into anything I started. Once I started moving around the screen bam it just locked up. Tried every setting I coud without any resolution including updating video drivers for my Nvidia GTX 260 Video card. After a dozen tries I uninstalled it.. I am the admin so saying I should run it in admin mode will be a moot point. I also tried a compatibility mode run with the same result.. OK has or is anyone got this working or had the demo working in windows 7 x64. I certianly do not want to purchase another Battlefront game and have to wait for fixes right out of the gate. Just like I see there is a patch already within only a few days of its release.. Whats up with that. Feedback would be appreciated

Task you would be the kind of guy I would sell swamp land too, "well they promised to drain it someday" Uh-duh The wife thing was pretty much a joke since what I wanted to say would have me kicked me off the forum. This company lost all my respect on this game, they screwed up the pre order distribution. It took me countless crashes to even get it to run through a few missions and its still not stable. the missions were so badly one sided playability was almost impossible, the AI ran so far ahead of anything I could do, my troops and tanks were running all over the battlefield looking for chow or hookers or something other than following the orders I gave them. there is nothing I could say that really gets my goat except being ripped off, and this game was certainly a rip off the way is way sent out. Look at the fix list looks more like a feature list. You are telling me that a war based game designer couldnt figure out that tanls shouldnt turn around in a battle, wayponts and the list goes on. Add up all the stupidy of the person who approved this disaster, add on a long awaited patch with no due date, slap on some more missions product testing by the same idiots who released this version of the game and I can only see a long list of fixes in our future. Hey why have a house if you cant use it????????? This game is a total TFM. toilet flush your money. This whole waiting thing sounds like asking for sex from my wife. It's always just around the corner but never seems to come about. What is it now two months working with a beta release you called final? And for all you "give them a chance to fix it idiots", maybe money isn't an issue for you but when I buy something I expect it to work out of the box not when the manufacturer gets around to fixing it. Get out the patches already, If it doesn't work then fix the patch but just dont sit there and say we are working on it. Sounds like you have your thumbs up your you know what! This has got to be the worst gaming company ever. A partially working beta released as final. Features sets that have tanks driving in circles, compatibility problems up the wazoo. What did Clint say in a movie a "total cluster F^%K" plain and simple. Right now I give you 100-1 odds I get some from the wife long before a patch is released. Which dosnt say much for your company. The whole things smells like a class action law suit waiting to happen. GB

If half the users cant use the game what does extra missions accomplish. Most of the original missions are unplayable without the patch. So just release the patch already and stop the nonsense. I sure hope the testers your using now werent the same ones who gave the ok for the initial release. I dont hear anyone crying because you havent released the moscow additions. I suspect if the game finally works and so does the editor I can get lots of user posted missions in the next few months. If a real army moved as slowly as your staff we would still be fighting WWII. So when is this fix coming out. I have begun to play only by turning off use one processor on a 2.6GH HT processor. maybe you should have built in a process in which the game chooses what is best like most programs in this century. I was able to bring my Nvida settings back up and the slow down has been eliminated. However I still crash but not quit as frequently and unfortunately only when I an winning. Maybe its built into the game as a feature or maybe your AI doesn't like to loose so it freezes the battle. Where is this update, I would rather see something even beta to try to get this game working as it should. Still the worst release I have experienced from battlefront in terms of reliability. GB

by choppy I mean when you start panning sround during heavy action the machine cannot keep up with the game. If I dont pan then it runs fine but its hard to check the battlefield watching from the top row of the bleachers. I have run some pretty high end games on my machine without issues. Time for a quad core and GF 8800 card. I await the patch, until them my Tow is a no go for me. I need to win already. GB GB

Constant freezes I really hate being a beta tester, this game runs worse than a microsoft first release. Let me rephrase that a microsoft first release runs better than TOW. Game freezes, able to force quit to windows, tried settings recommented for freezing no luck just less constant freezing. So far this game is unplayable. I have never been able to get through the first mission of the campain. When running TOW gets very slow and choppy when the action starts, the pause feature is the only way to direct units at that point. Looks like a video issue, it does not always feeze when the action is heavy it usually feezes later in the game when the action is light or at the very start of action. 1024 x 768 resolutuion. GForce 5900 ultra 256mb P4 2.6 HT 3 gb ram Latest drivers Nvidia XP Pro Sp2 fully updated Antivirus Mcafee, crashes with and without 4GB Swap file Soundblaster Auidigy 2 latest drivers EAX off on the game no music I hope someone figures this out soon so far "TOW Does Blow". NRP (not ready for production). I keep trying but the game aint buying. I could go on.....Hows about a fix already GB

Downloading it now, I hope it works. This was the massage i got from Battlefront, they seemed annoyed with me like I said something wrong to ruffle their feathers.But still they refuse to post the information for all to see instead if having to email them for an answer. They said; "were afraid of resending it, might confuse people that had already gotten it". Hey just say that in the email so you dont confuse anyone; admit something went wrong and are resending the email. Some poor slob like me is still awaiting your announcement email. Battlefronts full email response We did send the email announcement last week (and the same info would have been in your original email confirmation when you ordered) but then later on discovered that not everyone got the email. We are still trying to determine why our mass-emailer didn't work when we thought it did. Unfortunately, we have no way to to know who did get the email (as many did) and who didn't and were afraid of resending it, might confuse people that had already gotten it. You didn't have to dig through the forum to get this info though, all you had to do was email us and, just like you did now, it would get taken care of. GB

I pre ordered Theater of War a few weeks ago after I received a battlefront email I figured I better jump on it and save a few bucks since I was interested in the game. Well today I finally woke up and said hey I never got any email saying the game is out. So I look again on the battlefromt web site and I see the game can be downloaded. I then had to do a search on this forum for some info on the preorders and found a message that stated not everyone got the email with a download link. Now I have paid and played, every Combat mission game and I dont remember this company being such a bunk af unconcernered idiots before. I am mad that maybe someone with a brain should have sent ANOTHER ROUND OF NOTIFICATIONS OUT . Also someone should post this information at the TOP OF ONE OF THE FORUMS so the other infortunate people like myself dont have to search to find out what the heck is going on with you guys at battlefront. This may be my last purchase, given all the current games that never materialized and now this. It just puts a bad taste in your mouth after all these years. I expected a little more from a company I supported. GB

Vaporware, the only CMC mission is to keep this forum running until we all die of boredom. Go out and buy Company of Heroes and blow something up which will lessen the frustration you experience here. The game is no Combat Mission but the graphics are awesome.They are getting closer, better watch out Battlefront! My answer is never gonna happen.

I guess I am one of the inpatient few. I have been a CM player for years. So when I heard a new game (add-on) was being developed, I was ecstatic. I have been checking in on this forum for months now. But alas still no CMC, or current word about CMC. I for one am feeling a little let down because no one can post a status update. I am tired of reading “all good things are worth waiting for”. Hey lets face it CMBB graphics are ancient, CMC will only be a quick fix for a game which is already in dire need of an engine upgrade. Has anyone seen new postings at any CM sites lately? When it comes to software, delays will only hurt a product as other companies introduce new software. It's only a matter of time. Hunter it's nice to see your name but still no real update as to when. I got fedup with this forum last week when someone posted a dissertation on denial..... If I were you Hunter I would just post updates in a Sticky and stop reading this nonsense.
