  1. Thanks for the advice and comments guys.Guess the key is just to take Leningrad quicker. As Rambo points out though,it would be nice if the Finnish units IN FINLAND could move to counter a Soviet incursion into their homeland (which happened early in my current game!) At least it isnt due to me screwing something up! Cheers again Ian
  2. Hi. Can anyone help.Love the game (especially with the new mod ....thanks TK) but I have a problem with Finnish units , including the HQ that are stranded in Finland apparently with poor supply north of Leningrad. How do I improve this? This can also occur with German units deep in the SU but HQs seem to help . Thanks for any assistance. Ian
  3. Hi. Not a frequent poster but a very frequent player and lurker of these excellent forums.Never heard of SC1 so have come to the game without preconceptions.Cracking work on this latest mod.You have made what was a brilliant engine with undeveloped AI into a really cracking gaming experience. Thanks for all the hard work. Cheers Ian
  4. Hellraiser. Finally a sense of proportion.I dont post too often here though read the forums for tips like it is going out of fashion.Yes 1.0 was unbalanced but as a newcomer to the SC series I was hugely impressed with the overall engine. 1.1 is much more of a headscratcher as the Axis which is bang on.Not perfect ,ok, but like you say ,please guys play the game several times on multiplayer with different opponents before trashing the thing. I actually have yet to play MP as I am still having fun with discovering the game's finer points. Will shut up now as we Brits dont like being too up front but please can the detractors tone things down and reflect a bit. Cheers Ian
  5. Benpark......... I agree so much with your sentiment.I play against my brother when I get to see him because he is as chilled out as me but the AI (especially if it is consistently tweaked in the light of playtesting by the experts(!?) will be fine for me). Dont need the multiplayer "keep the newbies out" crowd personally but I guess its horses for courses. Cheers Ian
  6. Santabear......... Totally respect your opinion re the intuition. But I have done a bit of trial and error to discover various elements and this doesnt bother me but I can see how some people would be bothered. I am sure the "undo move" button appears as one of the buttons in the right hand column when the pointer button is clicked to the right or left at the bottom of the right hand button colums (you can see how much of a techy I am eh?!) What are the actual effecs of the HQ units by the way?I am assuming they increase attack/defence values for attached units...am I right? Cheers Ian
  7. Hi All. Well as someone who for a reason known only to any greater power managed to miss out on SC1 and has preordered on the strength of this forum and the screenies and details given I went into the demo totally blind. I found it absolutely superb with actually very intuative buttons and cannot wait for the full game. I naturally discovered things like reinforcements about 2/3 of the way through trying to defend Normandy (doh!) so had my ass handed to me courtesy of the heavy bombers taking out my SS Panzers , but had a ball. I will keep lurking and learning from the vets out there until I get a manual and some quality time with the full game, but up to now..........well done Hubert.I have been a paradox and Matrix games fan up to now, but you have won a convert!! Best of luck all Ian
